I only removed the reed on a hat once and I regret doing it. If a hat is too small just buy a larger hat. I dont like the idea of being the guy who damaged a vintage hat that survived perhaps 70+ years before I got my hands on it.

These are the rest of the pictures. The seller claims the hat was purchased at "Granville" in NY, which appears to be a retailer. You can see that logo on the sweatband. Ive searched for Granville NY and have found this hat, which also looks 40s era to me. Might be an indicator?

Those are unfortunately the only pictures showing the inside of the hat. 40s/early 50s was my feeling aswell just from the look of it.

I am unfortunately not very knowledgable about company logos and what period they might date to, so I would like to ask some experts here. What decade might this A.BREITER date to? The seller mentions having bought it from a NY hat shop in the 80s, but nothing about the hat looks 80s to me...

Just got this Borsalino for €49. Looks late 50s - early 60s to me. Looks to be in brilliant condition, just a bit of dirt that’ll probably clean off with a quick brush and a bit of tape. Bit if steam and this one should be good to go. Don’t see any moth bites or stains, Sweat looks good too...
