I only removed the reed on a hat once and I regret doing it. If a hat is too small just buy a larger hat. I dont like the idea of being the guy who damaged a vintage hat that survived perhaps 70+ years before I got my hands on it.
These are the rest of the pictures. The seller claims the hat was purchased at "Granville" in NY, which appears to be a retailer. You can see that logo on the sweatband. Ive searched for Granville NY and have found this hat, which also looks 40s era to me. Might be an indicator?
I am unfortunately not very knowledgable about company logos and what period they might date to, so I would like to ask some experts here. What decade might this A.BREITER date to?
The seller mentions having bought it from a NY hat shop in the 80s, but nothing about the hat looks 80s to me...
Ill post this one here aswell. Vintage Borsalino that just came in a few days ago. Great condition and cleaned up very easily. Just a few creases in the crown that needed some steam. I tried to match the colours of the photos to how I see them in person.
If you look closely there’s a...
This Borsalino arrived a few days ago, just got it cleaned up yesterday. I tried to get colours close to how I see them in person. Not sure whether to post this here on in the Borsalino Brootherhood thread.
There is a small grease stain in the front, but I wont sand the brim just for...
Just got this Borsalino for €49. Looks late 50s - early 60s to me. Looks to be in brilliant condition, just a bit of dirt that’ll probably clean off with a quick brush and a bit of tape. Bit if steam and this one should be good to go. Don’t see any moth bites or stains, Sweat looks good too...
Today Id like to show you all something a little different. My one and only pair of "jeans" (that I still wear).
These Jeans are made by a Chinese manufacturer called "Red Tornado" & are perhaps more accurately described as denim trousers.
I bought them because I was searching for very high...
Here are a couple pictures of me wearing the jacket. I’m sorry, neither me nor the person who took the picture are good photographers. I basically never take "selfies" for social media, so the quality or colours aren’t very good. I think this jacket nails the authentic "ww2 fit" I was going for...
The Dubow arrived today!
Leather definitely looks a lot better now that I have it in hand. I am no expert on flight jackets but this jacket certainly gives me the look I was going for. This is my first experience with goatskin and its a night and day difference to cow or horse hide. Much...
