    1940's dance this last weekend.

For lack of deciding a better place to post I am posting here. My sweetie and I went to a dance this weekend that was held at a museum airfield. She did some research and decided on a hair style she saw in a Batty Grable picture.

    The delightful attic smell.

And as I say at times..."sometimes the obvious escapes me".

    The delightful attic smell.

I recently bought a pretty good suit. '50's era and I didn't even have to get it tailored. I have hung the jacket and trousers out in the open so they can air out but it still lingers a bit. I am originally from Arizona where I have never really encountered that smell until I left the state...

Free. Faux hanky dry cleaners tag.

This is something that this dry cleaners would put in the handkerchief pocket. As can be seen the top has the appearance of a handkerchief. The end is folded to fit the pocket. If someone would like it to add to their collection then let me know and I'll get it off into the mail to you. :)

    My wallet and key case.

Supposedly 40's or 50's. Never used stock. Has a stamp pocket which as we know is something we don't have today. The outside embossment. The hotel is now a Hilton hotel if I recall correctly. I love how old keys were more ornate.

    1930's era ribbon microphone

I'm sorry. I have spent too much at movie prop boards. Those guys love to point out what they think are errors. I made an entirely custom prop never seen by or made by anyone and someone said I did it wrong.

Music that Should be in a detective movie

That is definitely some slow roasted over a open flame detective music.

Dick Tracy two way wrist TV

What is sad is that I offered these repeatedly on movie prop replica boards and ebay and nobody wanted them. I ended up throwing them out about 7 1/2 years ago. They were not framed like here. It was just the device replica itself.

Where to find a '40's era suit?

I found a tailor who would make one but she wants 6 to 8 months.

Where to find a '40's era suit?

I found one on etsy but upon receiving it found the measurements were wrong, the material that could be let out was wrong, had fading and pit strains yet described as "excellent" condition. I tried Magnoli but he takes measurements differently than U.S. tailors and I guess that was an issue for...

    What era is this suit?

It does need to be pressed. The fabric is summer weight and there is no lining on the jacket in the back. No pleats so good eye Guttersnipe.
