It looks like a box and you put a hat in it. Your auction says "real hat box", which I think leads people to believe they are getting more than a box with a hat in it. If you are worried about people's expectations, change the wording in your auction to say that it will be shipped in hat safe...
Thank you, Alan. I'm very glad you posted that. It seems (again, seems) sometimes that you're not allowed to have critical discussions of custom hatters (except Art, of course, I've never seen anyone say a cross word about his work). It would be terrible to not be able to have a meaningful...
I wear a 7 7/8. I've won 3 vintage hats off of eBay in as many months in that size. It just takes persistence. And I guess that means I have a new person with which to compete. :)

My first hat. I could not be happier with my maiden purchase.
And my straw. I have not left the house without it on my head since Memorial Day weekend.
I should have a new one in September after the new felts arrive. I was inspired by the brown hat with the rose...
I don't think it had anything to do with IJ, but my local grocery store cashier finally asked me, "Is that a fedora?". It was at the time, as summer only comes crashes on the feet of winter in Chicago. "Yes it is", I said, followed by a friendly "It looks very good on you". As summer has come...
