    Brooks Cafe Racer Leather Question

I honestly have to say ebay is likely the best place. I've been rather successful with it. I wish I could give you a better source, but it seems we're at an age of using online services over actual stores since the overhead for dealers selling items such as vintage leather jackets has been...

Why all the hatred towards black leather jackets?

clearly, it's a Kehoe made in Michigan from the 1960's. Its a very identifiable jacket with the zip sleeves on the outside and the "kidney" protector on the back. Kehoe always had the high kidney section (lower portion of the back of the jacket)...they also had a higher than normal mandarin...

    First Leather Jacket

My first "leather" jacket was actually a faux leather jacket when I was about 8 years old! hehe. After that, I got a hand-me-down from my now brother-n-law when I was 15. When I was 18 I purchased my first leather jacket from Easterner's Leather in Seattle. It was a medium brown, soft leather...

    Cafe Racer - Sizing/Fit Question

my favorite by far was the "Nick Corri" actor in the original Nightmare on Elm Street...pretty sure it is identified as an early Kehoe. It had such great patina. REMEMBER: cafe racer "jackets" were actually designed and marketed as SHIRTS, therefore they were not designed originally in the...

    Brooks Cafe Racer Leather Question

I've owned several Brooks leather cafe racer jackets over the years. From what I've seen, their earlier jackets (early 60's and possible late 50's), with black labels AND having the (rare) vertical seam right down the middle of the back was a little thinner, softer, slicker hide than their...

    Titanic sunk by U-boat?

Actually this is true...sorta Fact: The iceberg in fact did strike the starboard side. Fact: The order from 1st Officer Murdoch was given "hard a starboard!". Fact: Quartermaster Hitchens turned the wheel to starboard. ...but in the day, turning the wheel to starboard caused a ship...

Hangers... Do you hang your leather jackets on them?

I prefer to have mine age naturally, so its typically just lying around...kinda like where it ends up when I toss it. But if this is a concern, look for a broad hanger with as natural of a "shoulder" as a humans, so it will maintain its shape as if you were wearing it.

"Very Early" Leather Jacket, Any Idea of Age/Make?

Beautiful hide! I'd say it looks horsehide and its from the 1950's. The liner is also a clue that appears to date it besides just the basic style. Those cuffs are probably the big clue that will date it to that era. I just don't know if you'll be able to identify it positively.

Post Pics of Your Cafe Racer Jackets

oh yes, the cafe racer jacket! Yum! I've been wearing this style of jacket since 1999. I was always a fan of this jacket going back to when I first saw it on the guy in the original Nightmare on Elm Street and I was lucky enough to finally find one at a vintage clothing store. It was an old...
