Just curious about why y'all think the front pleats are an issue? Tons of leather type 2s out there in all kinds of hides...lamb, goat, horse, etc.

Ok, I'm narrowing in on my next project - gonna do this one in an unlined seal brown, and I'm trying to figure out the best leather. I'm looking for something heavy enough to drape well but still be comfortable unlined. My question is - which leather would be best for an unlined jacket like...

Thanks! Soaked in warm water for 20min, rolled it up in a towel to get most of the water out, tumble dry with towels for 10min, wore it around the house for an hour, let it dry on a hanger overnight. I should probably condition it with something, huh

Yep, this is the black goatskin. This was fresh out the box:

I decided to give my Winchester a soak and IMO it's 10x better. Just reinforces my thought that every 5* looks better after some time in the water.
