    Help With Custom Hat Order

For anyone that cares I can report that Watson's Hat Shop does excellent work. Just received my hat back yesterday after a reblock and brim trim to get my western cowboy hat closer to an Open Road. It's not 100% an Open Road still as the brim is a little wide (3 5/8 at my direction. It should...

Hats of the new HBO Perry Mason Series

Anyone have the inside word on who is making the hats for the new HBO Perry Mason series? Set in the 1930’s. Looks like a first class production:

    Help With Custom Hat Order

By the way, when he received my old hat he said my hat size was a 61-61.5cm.

    Help With Custom Hat Order

My hat didn't need cleaning, so no. But the price does include a nice hat box, mine was pretty old and beat up. I didn't find many hatters that offer restoration services let alone remaking hats into something else so I'm happy. Hopefully I'll be happy with the final result. He quoted me 2-3...

    Help With Custom Hat Order

He's charging me $120 for a reblock, flange, and trimming the brim so I thought the fee was entirely reasonable.

    Help With Custom Hat Order

Nope never heard of the place, but thanks for the suggestion, it was very thoughtful. I ended up sending one of my older hats to Watson's Hat Shop in Cave Creek AZ. He's the guy who made the hats for the Netflix series Godless and evidently he does a lot of restoration/reblock work on older...

Ask a question, get an answer

Unfortunately I have no local hatter. I've had plenty of custom hats made for me (Penman, Steve Delk, Jaxonbilt), but still have yet to get that "ah ha" feeling of finding a hat with dimensions that suit me perfectly. On fedoras the crowns are too tall and the brim is too narrow (Raiders and...

Ask a question, get an answer

So standard sizes look different on different size frames. Funny, I never considered that until my quest began for an Open Road. A western cowboy hat is too much material for my noggin, but I like the western vibe. Maybe the Corrections hat above might be a better suited.

Ask a question, get an answer

I like the look of this hat and might have one made. Can anyone guess the brim width? I'm thinking 3.5"

    Help With Custom Hat Order

Thanks Hurricane, I sent you a PM. Deadlyhandsome, I'm not sure of the dimensions because as I said the one Open Road I did order was a disaster, but probably a wider brim for sure and maybe a taller crown.

    Help With Custom Hat Order

I’m a 7-7/8, but also long oval in shape so custom is the only way I’ve been able to find anything that fits. I had an Open Road made a while back but the dimensions weren’t adjusted for my size and the hat ended up looking ridiculous, like a Porkpie on my head.

    Help With Custom Hat Order

I’d like to get a custom Open Road made for my huge noggin. Specs such as crown height and brim width would need to be adjusted to look appropriate for my head size, so I need to go custom. I’d like to work with someone who has experience with this particular style style, so if you have a...

A little insight and perspective please!

"My question would be: have you noticed an improvement or decline in the hats you have purchased with the "new" people apparently making them?" AndyKev, the more I think about it the more I believe the problems started when he brought in his new partner. I'm not sure if the partner had previous...
