Thank you for that too much coffee, we really appreciate that. (Your screen name reminds me of the Monty Python sketch "Bounder of Adventure" with Mr. Smokes-to-much.....)

For us, it is more than just a leather jacket though, as I enjoy the entire customer experience. In a way, when the customer receives the jacket it is a bit of a let down as that part of the process is complete. I have been a member here a long time. We do not come to other forums to peddle jackets as we have our own site for that, and word of mouth from satisfied customers is the best advertising we can have. Nowadays, maybe it is word of keyboard? At any rate, I just wanted to chime in to explain that Hammer Down and others are absolutely correct. It is no Aero - but nor is it meant to be. Aero makes the best jacket on the planet in my opinion.

Interesting thread.
I've posted in other places how much I love my USWings "Antique" cowhide A-2. The skin on this one looks very similar. Even with a closet full of high-end jackets, it's still there and I still love it.
Is it "as good"? Dunno. In some ways, no. The knits are relatively crap compared to an Aero or Good Wear, but the jacket overall is comfy and looks good. The cowhide is great - I like it as much as others in that regard. I think there's a place for jackets in this price-range, and I'd wager they'll probably outlast most of us, as have the 1000's of jackets on eBay from decades gone by.
I think once that one gets beat up a bit, soaked from the rain (or a shower) and tossed around, it will get lots of character.
Looks good. Nice to see more makers and offerings here.

Butte, you make an excellent point. I wonder how many of us have worn a brand new cowhide jacket out in their lifetime? I'm sure it happens, but it can't be that many...

Gets better every day!!! Headed to Philly this weekend and its supposed to be chilly, so I'll get one more good wear out of it this season before it gets hot as blue blazes. Watch the Phillies/Cubs game Fri. night and if you see a good looking guy wearing this jacket and a Cubs hat, that'll be me!

Thanks for the zipped up pics - fit looks great and I particularly like the slimmer fitting sleeves. I like whole idea of a reasonable priced half belt in a medium weight hide that doesn't look spray painted. My only reservation is the slightly streaky antique finish, but, I would think in time that might even out. Would love to see it again, further down the line, after some real wear.

The "streakiness" really is less pronounced than the photo's portray. I really need to get a new camera and quit using this cell phone! Anyways thanks for the comments I really am liking this jacket!

Great Jacket! It looks like it fits as well, if not better, than many of the custom jackets posted on here.

You mentioned the size of the jacket you ordered. What do you normally wear, if you don't mind me asking? Large?

As far as the side tabs, I'm sure it's a matter of preference, but how important are they? Could you just eliminate them (on a future order)? I wonder if they'd do that since they note each jacket is custom-made. As far as the current jacket, what are options for containing the floppy ends? Is there a way to find a brass ring to place around them, or could you find a piece of leather to construct a loop? Jan seems to be the master of modification. Any thoughts, sir?

I like what you said and how you said it. I think you did a smart thing drawing a distinction between what you're doing and what others are doing. I'm not saying there are many crazed fanbois around here but there's a couple on EVERY board I've ever been on. You post might keep them at bay for a while...

It's a pejorative term to describe someone that loves something and refuses to see it's faults, or purported faults. Other's see them as blind followers - Kool-Aid drinkers...

"Fanbois" are folks who are so loyal to a product or band or whatever, that they brook no discussion of anything that might place their product in a less than favorable light. For example there are Chevy Heads and Ford Fanatics. Trying to convince either of the as to the relative merits of the others product would be fruitless. Most fanbois also love a fight, let me be clear, "virtual" fight. They will say anything, post anything, spout the most outrageous screed in the world safely tucked behind their internet annonymity. In real life most of them tend to be quite cowardly. They often get banned only to return under a new sceenname to start it all over again. I hope I've cleared this up.
