That would rarely give a proper result. The (extremely) short focal lengths in phone- and compact-cameras result in massive distortion of perspective.

There is an Allie Aine Conformateur with a buy it now option up on eBay. Needs restoration work though. I don't have the $1,967.00 that they are asking for it.

Wow, look how pock marked the top piece is from perforating the card stock. I imagine it had lots of use.

I have the larger version. It's nice to be able to offer old school perforated monograms, but it seems most people prefer the gold or silver hot stamp monograms. Still, they're beautiful little machines and look great in the hat shop.

They look nice, but I've never understood the need for them. I'm not a fan of the perforated sweatbands. I sweat so much that I don't want to give sweat any more avenues to soak through to my felt.

Hey guys,

I just bought a machine on an antique market and have to figure out how to use it now.
Has anybody seen a machine like this before? At this point I'm pretty sure it's a machine for sewing hat linings.

Has anybody used one like these before? I'm not 100% sure what's the right way.
If one of you has any more pictures or ads of a machine like this one, that would be awesome.
The machine itself is a Singer 24-52 chainstitch machine.

(Sorry for posting this again, I opened a thread but now I think it's better to ask here)

My guess on the Singer machine above is that it's a brim binding sewing machine.

The Singer 24-52 was used for the following types of sewing:
- Mitts (Silk) Stitching
- Neck Ties Stitching
- Umbrellas Seaming

Could you have misread or mistyped 24-52 instead of 24-57? The 24-57 does hat linings, and those numbers do correspond to metric hat sizes.

I would be interested in where you found it (location) in Germany.

It's American made with CM sizing. I might be able to find something out about it.

Update: My source couldn't find this machine in their archives. Also no other information.
