I think I posted one or two of these photos somewhere else, but cannot find them.

Recently colourized photos of the Canadian Army during the Great War. Younger people can better identify with the context if seen in colour/color. Of course, all wars are fought in colour!

A long distance runner, he won the Boston marathon in 1907, set the record for the 15-mile race in 1912, and was a star attraction at Madison Square Gardens for years:
