Several images have been posted here from 1930's and 1940's Detmer Woolens catalogs. They appear to have been in business from the late teens through the forties or later.
Does anyone know if Detmer was a provider of fabric for clothing, or if they made their own label, finished clothing?
I can't find much about the company, ecept that their fabric sample boxes turn up, as well as pincushions with the name on them.

I have a trade card from what looks like the mid 20s for "Detmer University Novelties." It says that they have "500 new spring and summer styles for you to choose from" and that "They wear and tailor best."

The card itself has a great illustration of a bunch of college men in various outfits, so I can only assume that Detmer actually made finished clothing at that point in time.
