    Hat-astrophe

What's your hat size? J.C., I thought this was to be a tale about a lost or stolen hat. It's even worse. Sorry to read about your T&J. Here's hoping someone here will have a burning desire to help you replace it.

Why is it called Gambler Hat?

I remember that show. Frock coat, cheroot and a hat as you describe. CJ, Nope. Never took a gamble on a hat like that one.

Input from the lounge; time to buy a thin ribbon.

Pat H, It appears that your timing is impeccable. Akubras are a very good value right now. Check some of the recent Akubra threads. The Akubra Campdraft might be just what you're looking for.

Why is it called Gambler Hat?

Could it have been inspired by the character played by Kenny Rogers? Or his 1978 recording of the song that led to the made-for-TV movies? The Gambler On a warm summers evenin on a train bound for nowhere, I met up with the gambler; we were both too tired to...

    first kill of the year

Artigas, No one is chastizing Sean or holding anything against him. There are simply members who are offended by the material. There's no point in chiding them for their views. After all, no one has done this to Sean. I suggest we drop this and let the Bartender decide whether this thread is...

    Johnnyphi Hat Club

I have a suggestion. New members should probably be required to read all of the material here: http://www.thefedoralounge.com/FAQ.html before they are allowed to post anything on this forum. It would certainly decrease the number of repitious threads and the work of our poor Bartenders.

    first kill of the year

What is The Fedora Lounge? Artigas, Thanks for your opinion. However, noting that a thread may not be appropriate because what someone killed today has nothing to do with vintage is not getting on anyone's case. It simply has nothing to do with the stated intent of this forum. There is a...

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Winning bid: US $13.15 My abacus may be on the fritz but I believe the difference between the winning bid and the original price is ($20.00-$13.15=$6.85). Taking inflation into account the difference could well be in excess of $20.00 I suppose. ;)

    first kill of the year

Why is today's fresh kill vintage? As much as I personally enjoy hunting and fishing, it seems to me that this thread would be far more appropriate in The Vintage Sportsman forum. http://www.vintagesportsman.com/

Ever yearn for a vintage name?

I really like the name Kathleen, probably because that was my paternal grandmother's name. It is a beautiful name that can be made dimunitive in many ways, i.e Kitty, Kath, Kathy, etc. I wanted to name our daughter Alexandra (another lovely name) Kathleen but my wife was a big Cameron Diaz fan...
