I own four pairs of cowboy boots and I wear them quite often, I even wear them with my tuxedo :D. I really don't care about how other people feel about them. If I'd have to conform to what other people are wearing I'd have to wear trainers, sweat pants and hoodies, no thank you.
Thanks! This one came from @ton312 's rejects pile. I try to stick to leather jackets only because I want to avoid discovering new rabbit holes but I'm happy I got this one. The wool blanket lining makes the jacket much more versatile than unlined denim jackets (which are not warm enough for the...
I've tried the Mulholland, it's a terrible pattern. Yes not every jacket is a good fit for everyone but the Mulholland is bad in general. Same holds for the Speedmaster which might even be worse.
In terms of fit the ELMC wins hands down, it's much more flattering on you than the Schott. At first I thought that was because the ELMC's thinner leather drapes better new out of the box but that's not it. It's the shoulder width of the Schott that is too narrow while the sleeves and body are...
Ah of course the Cody, great jacket. I have one incoming myself. We can do a TFL Cody Rancher meetup, all wearing our jackets. What a fun sight that would be lol.
Shinki is just the name of the tannery, a tannery that produces different kinds of leathers.
Their full and semi aniline leathers (no topcoat / transparent topcoat) suck up water like a sponge, just like (almost) all full aniline leathers do. Their combination tanned leathers will probably be...
One huge difference between ELMC and Schott: water resistance. Eastman's Victoria horsehide sucks up water like a sponge whereas the Shinki Schott uses has a water repellent topcoat.
I'm not a Fine Creek fan myself by any means but I have to admit, this jacket looks quite good on the OP. In fact, this is one of the best fitting FCL jackets I've ever seen.
Personally I'd still return it though because I know how the leather is going to age, it's going to look shabby within a...
I do understand that, but sometimes a maker should advise against certain customer requests. Most first time buyers do not know what measurements work best for them. That's part of the reason why they go the 'bespoke' route in the first place: because the maker will take care of measurements...
You would think Himel should know right? Yet half of his jackets show comically slim sleeves, like they're painted on. The sleeves on the Japanese Schott 613 look wide by comparison lol.
Also remember the totally out of proportion Imperial.
I'd say the chances of getting a properly patterned...
Dude, wtf are you to tell me I'm naive. Also, @MrProper has been a respected TFL member for years, he's just a guy who loves to wear nice jackets. Your insinuations are ungrounded.
