Alongé & Cie
Evening Gents,
This afternoon I found an antique shop in town that I'd never been to and found this dark gray Alongé & Cie Fedora. It was a steal at $16! Miraculously, it was also a perfect fit for me. It appears to be in excellent/Very Good condition. The felt is very soft, (I'm...
Here we go! I feel must apologize for the hideous scowl on my face. It was because the camera I used to take these pictures was giving me a great deal of frustration, -not because of any displeasure with the hat(which I love). As for my face itself, lets just say the hat is by far the handsomest...
Gentlemen, I'd like to introduce to you my first Art Fawcett created hat. The felt is powder blue and its sublties are difficult to capture on film, so I used several different camera settings. The brim is 2 3/8 inches with overwelt. The bow is something that this forum has not quite seen...
I didn't know whether to post this in Hats or Suits, but the hats were of most interest to me. These are Australian mugshots from the 1920's and 30's. Everyone is very well dressed and the hats are nice. Here are a select few of my favorite shots, courtesy of thechive...
"You want me to buy a subscription to the Saturday evening post?
You want me to make a donation to the coast guard youth auxilary?"
lol
of all these strange headgear pics, mine still looks the most weird.
LOL! Holy Cats! Is it really upside down? I thought the side with the wingnuts was the topside. No wonder I thought Zeppelin's stairway to heaven sounded backwards... ;-)
I am receiving a strange signal transmission from the mothership into my brain... It's saying to buy more hats...
lol Sorry, Art's contraption looks too hilarious on my head not to post online for all the world to see...
BANG! That's the sound of me finally pulling the trigger for the first time on ordering one of Arts hats. It took me long enough. I can hardly wait! It probably means I'll be scouring this thread for the millionth time to decide on whose hat I want to shamelessly rip-off. lol!
Is the stippled ribbon on this hat the same as the one used on daizawaguy's "Ocean liner" from post #1605 and #1606?
They appear to have the same stippled pattern but the actual color appears to be different. It may have something to do with the flash or color rendering in each picture. Does...
Because I was asked what was stamped on the inside of the sweat band: On one side of the hat it has the stetson logo (the crest with the beaver and Griffin) beside "Western Royal" (written in cursive) and then just the word "Stetson" written below that in a bold type.
The last of my hats for sale:
For sale is a Vintage Cavanagh Mens Fedora size 7 1/8 color brown with the famous "tattered edge" bow treatment. Center dent, with the slightest of forward pinches. Yes the feather is removable. This hat has seen little use and is very good condition, like new...
I bought this off a fellow lounger a looooong time ago and I just don't wear it so off it goes to a man (or woman) of discriminating taste, or something.
Stetson thin-ribbon size 7 color brown western style. This hat has seen some major use, all around the world and back again. There is some...
For sale is a Vintage Dobbs Fifth Avene New York Mens Fedora size 7 color brown. This hat has seen some use as evident by the liner and sweatband. Slight stains on the liner. Sweat band shows signs of wear with some cracking, not tearing!, is still completely intact. It's nothing some proper...
