    Moleskine Notebooks; Have One?

I picked up on a few months ago not really knowing what I would use it for. It only took a day or two to figure it out, I use it to keep track of the Geocaches I find.

    When Is Your Birthday?

14 Nov 67, although my Mom keeps trying to tell me it was the 15th on the east coast since it was around 2300 in Hawaii. I tell her she needs to celebrate it both days then.

I suppose I did, I went out the week before Christmas and picked up a nice old wardrobe. I will have to get a few photos and get them posted.

    Whadja get?!

My lovely wife gave me a nice tie, set of Nautica cufflinks with the four points of the compass, a very nice apothecary mug for my shaving cream and brush and a nice new grill. Of course she gets the benefit of the latter as well. My fellow geek friend gave me this for the field phone...

Where did your user name come from??

I am a backpacker and it came from one of my trail mates. We hike the Great Smoky Mountains National Park and usually hike in groups of three or four and I am usually a little farther ahead of everyone. Every so often I will get a good ten minutes or so in front of the group. One of these...

Stetson Nobel and Knox Hat Box

Thanks. My other hats are c-crowns and one that looks pretty much like a diamond crown. So this is a welcome addition. Yes, I put it in the wrong place and could not figure out how to delete it and repost it here.

Instruments - what do you play?

My main instrument was saxophone. I played all except soprano throughout my school years. I am now looking for a soprano, but will settle for an alto, so I can try and learn it all again. I dabbled with the flute for a while, since the fingerings are basically the same. I also banged...

    The comfort of a fireplace

Unfortunately I have not had a fireplace in the house for about three years now. I miss that one. My wife and I have made that a mandatory item when we buy or build though.

    The Finchley Establishment Hat Box

Got back from a readiness inspection on Saturday and this was delivered a couple hours later. The outside. The inside. What looks like a shipping label. It is in great shape overall and the strap is good and pliable. Hopefully I can figure out an age. I am trying to see if I...

    Halloween Costumes

I saw something that looked cool on a costume idea website a few years ago I may try. Take a torn up old tent, rubber snake, some sort of stuffed animal, the more rabid looking the better, a few fake bugs and various other like items you make take or run into on a camping trip and attach them...

    The Pocket Phone- Cell Phones

Some of the newer Bluetooth hands free devices are getting very small, although pricey. This is a Nokia offering, and a Jabra one. There are a few others out there as well. Still a little unsightly, but slightly less so.
