:D:D
Well, its 17" now ... Luckily, we are surrounded by farmers, who are cleaning the roads with tractor and plough, but still not able to actually drive anywhere with our car.
At least it isn't -11 C anylonger :eusa_clap, the AGA oil was becoming too thick, and it is our main heat...
I find the music quite suits, it gives your film 'collage' the feel of a hommage to those times, it makes ones thoughts travel back even though we have not lived through those days ourselves.
Very gently done, and a good ending. I enjoyed it.
As heard on the grapevine:
There were rumours about Zemecki being director, which he appears to have declined as he is otherwise busy. There was also talks about Robert Downey Jr to star in the movie, if it ever takes shape.
'Wizard of Oz' belongs to my favourite movies. I have no problems...
My thoughts as well.
Although there was a small highlight: the Dodge Challenger as seen at the beginning (I know, not from the golden era, but still a great car :D )
I decided against it. It is a very chaotic place as it is mine and my partners workshop, basically, and therefore every room is full of wood and fabric. And I'm afraid it is therefore not very photogenic, but it surely is lived in! ;)
In that case, may I ask if you kindly would list the latest two additions in my first post?
The thing is: people often quote in their replies and the thread becomes very slow to view. If all added movies are in the first post, the 'scrolling-down' time would be shortened.
:)
Very interesting, I like it a lot. The cheeky tie with stripes in a different directions made me smile.
Btw, on first glance, you reminded me straight away of Anthony Hopkins (I cannot remember what movie it was right now) and there is a bit of Dennis Hopper in there too.
Where does vintage begin for me ...
Perhaps it was the fact that I spent much of my childhood with my grandparents, observing their values and outlook on life. They worked hard to get where they were, they stuck together as a couple no matter how many arguments they had (in business and...
Hmm ... difficult. Does it have to be golden era? My list will be a wild mix on a time scale.
Jimmy Smith - The Cat
Jimmy Smith - The Midnight Train (with Stanley Turrentine)
The Crusaders - Free As the Wind
Lalo Schifrin - (the best of 1962 1972)
Cannonball Adderlely - Somethin' Else
Stan...
Similar happens to me frequently: people don't recognise me straight away, depending what hat I wear. I quite like that, another reason why I wear hats regularily. Blending in without being noticed .... :D
@ lostinperiphery
That is a well composed photograph.
Almost as if it would be for a catalogue. It made me look for a while and I like what I see, including the ginger hair :)
As to your attire:
My favourite is the tie, but at the same time, maybe from a time scale perspective, it...
Every day. Each hat/cap made by myself, therefore they fit, are comfortable and fit the requirements.
For day to day outside work: various flatcaps
For casual socialising: berrets
For whining and dining or theatre: more 'sophisticated' hats, usually with feathers. (being in the countryside...
Autum ... a colourful burst before the calm ...
I do love this season, despite its dampness. I have not yet had the chance to take pictures of the foliage as it has been raining for some days now.
But its not just the leaves that are fascinating in autumn.
Morning dew and morning mist are...
Actually, that has given me another idea ... will experiment next time I have sprouts in the house! And I really like nutmeg.
About steaming/boiling/blanching vegetables:
I ALWAYS steam my vegetables over sugar water. I find it makes a big difference in terms of bringing out the flavour of...
