That's so true Joao. I wonder if his manager had the contract made in £s, €s, or $s I think there's a great lesson to be learned here. For me that would be 'only sign up in vintage Borsalino fedoras, keep your hat on.. and be ready to run....'
You are a genius Robert, I take my hat off to you. I think Donald is about to give the wee sod a good ducking. A bit like Trump giving .... well never mind we won't go into that just now.
I don't think I'll be eBaying for a while, it's mayhem here Armageddon without the armour. Britain falls...
C$50! As much as that? Surely not? Listen 40Cal, that feather.... It's the only thing you can see for heaven's sake. Take that away and your bidding on a black hole. But I agree, say C$ 22 without the feather I always wanted a black hole.
Thank you mayserwegener, yes I was looking at your excellent site and drooling! I agree about being a purist and fully intended to use this Homburg as a Homburg, but it didn't feel right really and you know what that means... I wouldn't have worn it. I did so want to replace my stolen Fedora...
Dearly beloved Bretherin,
If one was to ask nicely, put one's hand up and await higher consideration, prostrate one's self and say 50 heil Marys, would it be possible to enter the inner sanctum of the Blessed Borsalino Brotherhood?
My apprenticeship and calling consists of an ex-magnificent...
That often happens, and here in Europe too. However, I find that contacting the seller in their own language with a friendly polite "would you be able to consider my bid...?, If not I understand and wish you luck with the bidding" almost always get's a positive reply.
That Dobbs was a cracker Michael R, why such a bargain? I feel rather sorry for Leathergirl. But that said, her loss was someone's gain and I too hope it was one of the Bretherin who won the bidding. I'd love to see that one as a fedora = it could easily be reversed to a hommie again.
Ummm, amazing, but a bit of a wedding hat maybe? Perfect for "the big day" or your divorce celebration, but not an everyday sort of a lid. Nevertheless a remarkable find and mouthwatering to think of the other beauties that are out there at the back of the hat cupboard or in forgotten...
Thank you! The hat's nearly right isn't it? Well I think so, it feels great on anyway.
The boots, yes my prized Tony Lama's I have those, and a very dark brown almost blood red pair - these are in perfect condition, USA 10 1/2 UK 9.5 - 10. I say this as for me unfortunately MS has made...
My Borsalino Hommie arrived today, nicely packed and then stuffed hard into my rather small postbox.... Not to worry, it's a terrific "brand new" (old stock) ex-Munich hat shop, Borsalino homburg dated 6 juni 1956. It's new stiff felt and very blockable. A bit of steam and TLC and it would do...
Yes Michael, it's a homburg but with real style and it will snap and bash, but I'm more and more tempted to re block it to perfection, stiffen it a bit and leave it as it is, no bashes at all. I am large - that is me posing in my Avatar (20 years ago). And that was my Borsalino Dishclothissimo...
Well Joao, eBay seem to be dumbing down pain by no longer showing ended auctions.... How can we savour our suffering if images of what might have been have simply evaporated? This is creeping sensorship, the end of post bidding porn.... I can't cope
