That often happens, and here in Europe too. However, I find that contacting the seller in their own language with a friendly polite "would you be able to consider my bid...?, If not I understand and wish you luck with the bidding" almost always get's a positive reply.- Sweatbandjo

My Borsalino Hommie arrived today, nicely packed and then stuffed hard into my rather small postbox.... Not to worry, it's a terrific "brand new" (old stock) ex-Munich hat shop, Borsalino homburg dated 6 juni 1956. It's new stiff felt and very blockable.
