Pics
We had various historic places for our wedding pics but this was just at the park.
The groomsmen wore zoot suits with chain and the gals wore fingerless gloves and side feather 'hats' with dresses that were almost shorter and black versions of my wedding dress. The ceremony was outside...
Yes very similar and I like both in different ways. The perfumed court carries out of this world nice perfumes that I've not yet found anywhere else, stuff you can't even find at Neiman's sometimes. It's definitely for people that are serious into perfume or want something very unique. :)
Thanks! I tried that and it kept telling me it was a bad link or something. If I pasted it directly it wouldn't paste and then when I tried loading it from my computer it said invalid? lol
Thank you sir. I was hoping I wouldn't come across as trying to get on my 'high horse' but I really do try to give back to them in any way shape or form I can as they gave more for me (this nation) than I will ever be able too! It's very near and dear to my heart. I come from a long line of...
Nice Dubya and Shangas that is true, our grandparents were young once but being wild back then wasn't as accepted as it is today and in my house, never spoken of. As I've gotten older I've realized all that advice and common sense from life experience wins over anything a Doctor or such type...
I found some interesting things here http://blog.shop4classics.com/2011/02/art-deco-style-bath-tubs-faucets-and.html ... I actually came across that first pic you posted a while ago I believe, but I could never find it a bit bigger than a thumbnail.
Hahaha! Armpits reeked.... LOL! Reminds me of these leather pants I found at a thrift store, they reeked somewhere else... I won't get into that. Oxy clean is amazing and I put it on everything. Better than bleach. I like the dry and liquid forms. Borax is great and if you put it on the floor...
For me, nothing beat listening to my grandparents tell stories of the past while eating some homemade southern cookin'! Would anyone like to share stories or sayings of that era? Recipes?
I'll start.
This recipe is called Crazy Cake which was popular during the Depression and does not...
I was always "into" vintage.... whatever from a very early age. I remember the first time I saw the 50's portrayed on one of my kids programs (probably Are You Afraid of the Dark?) and I felt electric. I just craved knowing more about that time period. I had a crush on Elvis when I couldn't even...
I thought about the VFW (Veterans of Foreign Wars) today and thought this might be a good place to post this. I'm sure many of you already do this but I've spoken with a few who do not even know what the VFW is. What a better way to show your appreciate to "The Greatest Generation" (and others)...
I know there is the old absinthe house in New Orleans where my family is from. I've tried absinthe after they supposedly lifted 'the ban' on it being illegal here in the states but I'm not sure if it was the correct wormwood. Thujone is similar to THC or marijuana and unless laced with something...
This is great thanks! I read that black and green was super popular during the 1930's. I love Scarlett Johannson's bathroom in Black Dahlia. My sink from Home Depot is almost identical but white. I also read during the 20s and 30s white became more popular because it showed dirt and therefore...
I was just wondering if any of you have taken on re-doing a room or house into a vintage look (any year really, although I've never met someone who has re-done their decor back to the 1970's ;)) I'm currently working on our bathroom and have found push button light switches and art deco light...
Oh my goodness is that "real" red hair! You so remind me of Rachel McAdams in the Notebook! If you want to go short, ya only live once and nothing could make you ugly! I do love the way it is now but I also know too well of the feeling of the same hair... every day... (I'm struggling with that...
Sometimes it's not just simple aesthetics but something that comes from within. Depending on how you laugh, react to things, things you say... I never ever get approached, ever! When I do it's a much older man or someone foreign I cannot quite understand (probably better that way) I'm told I'm...
