Our 8 mos old puppy, Tempest. She's a deer in the headlights as I've caught her red-handed on my sofa. It takes FOREVER to vaccume up those fine hairs as they embed themselves quite easily in the fabric (not to mention she's slobbering over that rawhide on my cushion). We've had her since she...
Perhaps this isn't the correct thread to place this, but one of my favorite dish-sets is the vintage saladbowl set that I aquired. It's made of bakelite, and is in the shape of a magnolia. I used to have the tongs for this set, however when we moved, an entire box of our kitchen things were lost...
I gave a hand at victory rolls today. Boy, are they frustraiting! Lisa and the other girls' tutorials make it look so easy! :)
I am hoping that after I get my hair cut it will be much easier. My hair is so thick. The ends were just a pain to gather. I noticed in one tutorial, for bangs, it...
After trying sponge curls, I decided that they weren't for me. I much prefer pincurls, though it's still a new technique as well. I decided to invest in a pro-curler after discovering them here! It's such a neat gadget. Mine should be arriving shortly, and I can't wait to try it out. Any tips...
I usually do a type of victory roll or high set the sides with an alligator clip when I'm sporting a greasy/heavy 'do and need to run out the door for something. Wide headbands are also a great help!
I hate that I will accidentally spill something on myself right before I head out the door...
I lived in Pa at the time, and it was excellent in the snow. It was a faded blue and wood-grained wagon. I am sure some made fun of that car when I drove it, too, but I had the last laugh when cruising in the winter! lol
I'm trying to find a picture of my 61 Phoenix. My fondest memory was...
Looks great, Amy Jeanne!
I used to have one of those silver clips, but had a hard time finding others. I've never tried finger waves. It'll be on my to-do list, esp. if they turn out as cute as yours have!
Ps. Is that a Mash tshirt? LOL :)
My first car was a black 72 Dodge Dart. I bought it for $800 from my best friends stepdad, Buck. I drove that car for 9 years until the timing chain broke, shearing off approx 60% of the teeth. It also bent several rods and collapsed 2 lifters. :o
Since then, i've owned a 63 Plymouth...
This was my first attempt at using a sponge roller set. Let me just say that I HATED it. In fact, I found my first go at pincurls to be SO much easier. The curl that the pinset gave was DEFINETELY better, as the sponge roller set seemed to flop after brushing it out. I also did a makeup test...
I like trucks as well. My husband is dying to get a red sidestep to putter around in.
Alas, the Desoto I pictured is merely an example of what a Coronado looks like, and is not my own. They were available in any combination of those 3 colors, and ours is turquoise on white with a black roof...
I love 57 Desoto's. I used to own 3. They were Firesweep Sportsmans (4 door hardtops). One was a project car, one was a parts car for the project, and the other was a two-tone green gem that had 46K original miles and was in nice daily driver condition. It's a shame that Desoto went out after...
I'm a fan of the Redken "Fresh Curls" anti-frizz shiner. I bought it at the salon on clearance ($1!!) and it has worked out nicely. I put it into my hair after towel drying it, and then brush through. I use the Redken "All Soft" gold glimmer product (also on clearance for $1!) after styling to...
Hi Andy,
Thanks for the reply. It's funny that you should mention "my husband's restoration." Actually, I am the car nut in the house. My husband doesn't really know anything about them, so we bought a project to learn together. I managed a tire shop for about 6 years before getting hitched...
Hot wax VS Cold wax
I have the general area below my brows waxed to help lift those stubborn fine hairs that my tweezers miss. Otherwise, I maintain them by tweezing as needed. I haven't had any sensitivity to the wax used, but I have seen that there is a cold wax treatment available. It's...
Zorbex is great stuff. I had my first introduction with it when I bought my Dyson a few years ago. Within the box came a free sample of Zorbex carpet cleaning spray. It helped eliminate funky smells and remove a persistent pet stain on our carpet. I haven't used it on clothing, but I highly...
Coronado
The Coronado is an exciting aquisition for us. This vehicle, as you said, was a "spring special". It was offered mid-production in 1955. The 55 Desoto was a totally new car that year. Not only did it feature the first wrap-around windshield, but it sported the first tri-tone paint as...
