Bought a RL polo shirt with loop collar. I think it looks kinda vintage. There are other version with only one loop on the top. Only problem is finding them between all the modern Poloshirts...
Bump because I found some popover shirts at different places this season. I think this style makes short sleeved shirts far better looking and less geeky.
First one is actually Luxire but places like J.Crew, ERalph lauren, gap or H&M also carry versions of this style.
Do they have to be chinos? I just bought RL trousers on ebay. One pair is lightweight seersucker cotton and the other a cotton /linen mix. Both are perfect for summer. The Abercrombie and Fitch chinos would be my next guess. I got a nice high waisted pair als from ebay. Of course not all of them...
Listen to resortes and don't forget to write "thank you". His comments are spot on and greatly explained. Quite honestly I was already losing my patience with you since you seemed stubborn (he mentioned this kind of members too). But depending on parents for bigger purchases explains a lot...
+ one on the boots and about this being a great suit. Just your style.
I often noticed on the pictures HBK posted that belts were rather popular. When I started getting into vintage word was that suspenders/braces were the norm until the thirties. Clearly this isn't the case. Or maybe a...
Great start. I only got into suits in my late 20s. Not that it would make any difference. I gained quite a few pounds since I was his age. The suits wouldn't fit anymore.
You are right about the comparable modern look of this suit. For the trained eye the difference will be noticeable (in a...
Agreed. Sorry, I am cool with helping people who have a budget. I also appreciate the high rise. But no vintage, no wool or blends, not willing to pay five bucks more for MTM... Just buy some modern boring pants at the mall and
The yoke is usually seen on suits that were let out all the way and then some more. I have some black trousers that had a massive insert of almost matching fabric. Luckily I could take them in again.
Not sure if this one is for the same purpose.
Broccoli, about the vest placket thingy; I think...
Don't you have some of repro batch left, Resortes? They certainly look the part.
Yes, Ralph Lauren would also be a suggestion BUT they are usually not cheap. Never heard of the knock off brand before. RL can also be foudn deadstock on ebay for less. But your attitude may get in your way.
Man, you find the best stuff. I wouldn't think this was still possible in germany otherwise. And be lieve me I AM looking out for it. The suit seems conservative by international standards but the shape and color are actually quite cool methinks.
Look for "swedish work wear trousers" or sometimes "swedish prison trousers" on british ebay. Very high waisted and cotton. They have a green color but you could dye them dark brown or black. If you buy them longer a tailor or seamstress could put cuffs on them.
They are my cheap everyday...
Not much love for sixties on the FL either. Don't get me wrong. I don't criticize you or your choice of boots. Some questions just don't get much attention here because they don't fit the focus of the forum. Last time someone asked for boots like Ryan Gosling wears in a modern movie. People...
