That Bootlegger looks great - enjoy. Close to the perfect coat. Let me know if/when you decide to part with a few of your sz 40 Aeros (at 5'9" I'm betting that the coats that look/feel short on you will fit me perfectly!). Shipping to Chicago is a lot easier than Scotland too :)
I really prefer a more fitted jacket and this one is a little too roomy across the shoulders and at the waist (the adjusters are pulled tight!). It really is an amazing coat - I especially like the one piece back. I'm torn about selling it but this is on the way from Washington state and I'm...
I ordered a California Ventura on August 4th - haven't heard from him in a long time...I'm not worried, the man is honorable but I'm afraid he may be making a coat for my heirs to fight over (and make no mistake, it will be worth fighting over!).
Have you spoken w John about getting the coat altered? Whatever he charges is going to be less than the bath you'll take selling it - getting on his calendar to have him do the work may be another matter altogether... I have no idea where I am in the queue for him to make me a Californian...

I do not mean to be evasive but this is a standard size 40 jacket - it was purchased from the retailer Smith & Butler in Brooklyn, NY and was made up for inventory, not as a custom order for an individual.
My experience with "measurements" provided by sellers has not been good (I...
Amazing brown front quarter horsehide Bootlegger jacket by Aero. Royal Stewart tartan lining, antique brass hardware. Standard size 40 - this was a stock jacket recently purchased and worn once. PM if you are interested at $550 shipped to the CONUS (paypal gift or 4% upcharge for paypal fees).

I think the jacket looks fine. One question - are you planning to use this to ride or is this more an everyday jacket? If you are planning to ride I'm not certain how you could do it comfortably if the jacket was any tighter/smaller (as is the case with your old Schott).
And for the...
I ordered over the phone and received it yesterday - size 40. The collar was quickly removed (I didn't toss it but I can't see how it adds to the coat at all). My only complaint about the coat is the zippers on the pockets - great for keeping things in your pockets when you're riding but tough...
Funny, I bought my Aero Slim Halfbelt from Insurrection last Sunday - I toggled back and forth from Wade (at the meet, evidently a good multi-tasker) to Sally. Wonderful people.
IMO Aero "sizing" runs a bit big (I put "sizing" in quotation marks because they produce a large number of custom jobs). You also have to be aware of variations with different coats - I am a 40 in the Highwayman and the Bootlegger but I prefer the fit of a 42 in the Cafe Racer.
I'm in no...
Now that I have reached the 15 post threshold I'm able to send/receive PMs so feel free to PM if you are interested in selling an Aero Highwayman in Brown/Cordovan FQHH (sz 40).
Yes, this was a lame excuse for a bump...
I'm a pretty "standard" size 40. As a newbie I'm not able to send/receive PMs yet so just post a reply to this thread if you have one for sale.
Thanks!
You got that from my posts? Wow - my wife chuckled when I said someone described me as overly sensitive! On an unrelated subject - it's a long way from Butte to Pasadena. No Berkeley Pit.
That is precisely my point - you are unable to provide negative feedback on eBay when things get sidewise because eBay doesn't permit you to leave feedback more than [60/90/120/I forget how many days] from the date the transaction closes. In my case, the coat was delayed well beyond the eBay...
