Got a very lightly used pair of repro WWII Army Roughout Boots in men's size 10. They have never been waterproofed, hence they retain their original tan coloration. I swapped the original russet laces for matching tan ones to make them into desert boots. Very little wear on sole. Asking $50 plus...
I was perusing Facebook earlier today, when a friend's photos caught my attention. There before me was a beautiful set of "Waterfall" bedroom furniture, a classic design of the Golden Era. Just last year, I acquired my own Waterfall bedroom suite (in near perfect condition) after a very lengthy...

Yep, I was careless and ended up breaking a bone in my foot. :eusa_doh: The irony is that, even though surgery fixed the problem, it created a new one. Seems that none of my footwear fits me anymore! So I've had to purchase all new shoes & boots, and now have to auction off my old ones for...
Well, autumn is upon us - crisp air, apple cider, flannel shirts, and brilliant foliage. I managed to schedule some travel back home to Virginia just in time to catch the fall colors at their peak. I'm definitely planning an outing to Shenandoah National Park sometime in the next several days to...
After many requests from fellow Fedora Loungers, I am finally posting my most recent safari hat conversion. For this one, I decided to take everyone back to the very beginning of my quest and show you how things evolved. We begin way back in my college days when a friend let me wear (briefly)...

This National Geographic film brings to life the story of climber George Mallory, the man who may—or may not—have been the first to scale the world's most challenging peak. Director Anthony Geffen intercuts newly discovered...

I was just browsing through the online store of Henry The Hatter and found this rather nice looking hat - fur felt, underwelt brim, and choice of three different colors. A long search through Fedora Lounge posts only turned up information on vintage Churchill hats, but nothing on these...

Safari-ized Akubra Riverina hat...
I just stopped by my local Target superstore the other day and happened to notice these great classic-styled desk fans sitting on the shelf. They come in different finishes (I liked the oil-rubbed bronze the best). The Target website shows they are out of stock, but the stores carry them.
In response to a very good & interesting question posted on a related thread, I hereby summon all Akubra Riverina owners to:
please check in
tell us briefly about your beloved Riverina (e.g. have you done the safari conversion, etc?)
provide a list of the locations around the world where...
Okay, many of us own vintage or reproduction-vintage footwear. In searching through the various posts, there is often mention of adding cushion insoles to make the shoes/boots more comfortable. That got me thinking...
What insoles were used in vintage footwear a half-century ago to make them...
There's a time and place for everything...including shorts. I would not go so far as to say that gentlemen will never wear shorts in public. Anyone who has been to the West Indies has probably observed some of the traditional dress attire of a gentleman - "Bermuda" shorts, along with coat & tie...

Ingredients
-medium-gold rum (e.g. Appleton Estate Reserve or Bacardi Select)
-maple syrup, grade B...
