Yes, this was an inexpensive hat. Not vintage. As I pointed out above, it was 55 euro, shipped from Amazon. Seems as if the price was about right, or a bit low. -

Right. I promised a photo of the Equal Earth, now adorned with a Borsalino ribbon. I think it worked out well. Of course the crown doesn't seem quite as tall, but I still like the shape a lot. -

I need a couple of vintage grosgrain ribbons for a pair of fedoras. One is a light sage Borsalino Alessandria from the fifties, which requires the traditional thin ribbon. The other is a fifties (?) I have a skinny grosgrain ribbon that I just removed from an older Borsalino Alessandria -- too thin for my taste. Help needed with grosgrain ribbon installation
So, I did it. Sewed a circle, and then -- while the ribbon was damp. pulled it down over the crown. It dried perfectly: tight, unwrinkled.
