Looks like only a couple of their pages are working, the others have broken server connections. maybe they're re-vamping the site? The mens page is fine.
Hopefully this will help, as I've been "diagnosed" as an autumn. :) I have auburn hair and greenish-hazel eyes with pale skin.
I like greens, but they look better as mossy or olive-y greens. the bright grass and kelly overshadows me. I do like a dark emerald though.
Blue looks good on me...
We're wearing costumes to work today, so I tried a whole vintage outfit. Alas, I'm less than pleased. Things don't look the way I thought they would...
Jacket - Ebay
Shirt - a white blouse I had. The one I bought with a better collar didn't fit over the chest, alas
Skirt - Woman Within. I...
That is brilliant. I don't know why I haven't thought of that. I don't care to collect my own hair, and the only foam things I can find are either too dark or too hard to take pins. I'll have to try that, we have several costume shops in town.
Wear what you want to, Texasgirl! In the movie anyway, Frenchy wore capri pants, a poodle skirt, the pencil skirt was part of her beauty school uniform, and she wore a big floofy yellow dress to the dance. I would love to see a pic when you're done with it all!
Well, it's not my absolute favorite, but I thought I'd let you know.... I normally carry my lipstick and a couple other makeup basics with a little compact in a zippered bag that then goes in my purse. The red lipstick I had in there, a normal cheap scarlet one (I can't remember the brand...
Not sure where you could get complete census info for free. I signed up with Ancestry.com. The monthly fee has paid for itself time and again with everything I've been able to discover about both sides of the family, though. Totally worth it.
Oh yes, I love the darker blues, especially cobalt. I also love vintage hats. Isn't this one just divine? Saw it on ebay, but couldn't afford it, alas.
That is a gorgeous gown! I agree, only certain people can pull off the pastels. I'm what they call an "autumn", with red hair and hazel eyes. Pastels make me look washed out or sick, but that doesn't mean I can't appreciate a lovely dress.
I don't want to overwhelm you with photos, so I put them on my blog at http://nongirlygal.blogspot.com/2010/10/vintage-jewelry.html . I scored a lot of vintage jewelry at an indoor flea market this weekend for only $35, including two Sarah Coventry sets. I'm just thrilled with my finds!

Anyone else here into genealogy? I'm personally looking forward to the processing and release of the 1940 census data. For our non-USA readers, the census is done every 10 years. However, the details are not released to the public (names, addresses, actual info) for 70 years, or one...
Where someone from the southern part of the US may be offended by it or by "Yankee" on occasion, I don't think most of the rest of the US even thinks about the term anymore. As a previous poster said, I associate "Yanks" with something the English would call us, but certainly not offensive...
I just bought Mabelline's "Are You Red-dy". It looked blue-red in the tube, but when it's on, it seems a wee bit too orangey for me for some reason. Disappointing for $8.
My personal favorite so far is a true blue-ish red from Nyx called "Electra". It's definitely what I call scarlet. And...
I love the pink photo thread and the green one... So here's a thread for beautiful blue vintage! I found this dress just googling "blue 1940's vintage dress", maybe by "Carlyle".. It's navy silk... Gorgeous!
