    My Mother Says...

I am! She is marvellous :D My mother is very smart, classically so. She looked like Elizabeth Taylor when she was young and was so beautiful but she's always been a bit 'icy'. I don't think she means it but she's hard to reach. My Grandma and I still have good giggle together and before she was...

    My Mother Says...

Me too! My mother was really supportive of it when I was at school, she didn't like the bowl cut I had too much but she did love the shift dresses and made me so many of them, they were fab. She did teach me everything I know about sewing too. :) We don't really talk much at the moment, we have...

    Starting out Vintage.

I don't think it really is a problem that you have Olive skin, I bet it's a really pretty colour. I have olive skin too and actually hadn't considered it until I read your post :o isn't that strange! But I should imagine that Margarita Carmen Cansino had rather Olive skin and she certainly...

Well, yes of course it is just a 'tie'. Being properly dressed is, after all, just clothing is it not?

New Ladies and Gents Step Forward

Good evening Mr Ocean, nice to see so many fellow Brits here isn't it :) I think you may be right, in fact after thinking about it I am inclined to go and buy a lovely little model of a Spitfire and dangle it above the window - that'll show him. :p

New Ladies and Gents Step Forward

Hello to you too! It's nice to know I am not the only person who feel this way :D Even my dear old Grandma looks at me like I lost the plot sometimes although she is a veritable source of information! You're not a million miles away either :D

    Help with finger waves

I have just bookmarked those to buy! Would love to know how they turn out. Darling hubby bought me a pair of the babyliss triple barrell wave irons for Christmas - I haven't really had chance to use them properly yet as I've had the rotten lurgies, somewhere back on this thread someone else...

What Was The Last Movie You Watched?

Not including the Tinkerbell movie ( ughh) the last real movies I watched were 'The Women', ( the original with Joan Crawford) - one of my all time favourites and '42nd Street'. Have just found lots of lovely movies, have 'Mr Blandings Builds his dream house' to watch later :D

Does anyone else have difficulty sharing a bed?

I share my bedroom with my twins and my hubby - I often come down to sleep on the settee for some peace. When he was away in Australia before we were married I used to hate the empty bed and missed him horribly. But now in a double some nights I would love a bed for myself. I don't sleep well...
