Adding stiffener to a straw hat

How stiffen brim on carta straw hat I have an expensive straw hat whose label says carta straw. The brim has become floppy. Steaming didn't help. Suggestions to keep the brim from flopping down? I Google searched and found info on stiffening felt hats, but not so much on straws.

    Shudde Bros. Hatters in Houston

Thanks for the response. I wish I owned property in that seedy section just west of downtown Houston. Then I'd build townhouses like all the other gentrifiers are doing. I thought the place was great to visit. They were willing to do a hat repair while I waited. The store looked like it...

What kind of weave in this Borsalino? Is it packable?

The crown has a loose, or widely-spaced weave, and is soft and flexible. The brim is more tightly woven.

What kind of weave in this Borsalino? Is it packable?

Any suggestions on what kind of hat this is? I bought this Borsalino at Neiman-Marcus a few years ago. The crown has a different weave then the brim. The weave of the crown seems more widely spaced, and the crown is very flexible. I’m guessing it’s a special type of hat designed for...
