Unusual Cafe Racer style Half belt

It's Canadian and made from Horsehide with a nickel plated Lighthing zip. When I got the jacket it had been in the same family from new. It had belonged to the sellers grandfather who had bought it new in Canada at the begging of WW2 when they we being trained as a pilot. Although civilian...

Please help ID this British military jacket

Thanks Edward! Yeah there's definitely something of the N1 about it. It also reminds me a bit of a 30's sports jacket. I contacted Jamie from Blighty Militaria who said that the 22G contract number identifies it as being R.A.F but that he hadn't come across this design before.

Please help ID this British military jacket

I recently got this jacket and I was wandering if someone could shed any light on it as I don't recognise the design. It's definitely British as the label is stamped with the broad arrow due to the colour I'm guessing R.A.F or civil defence? The cut is a little reminiscent of battledress...

WWII British Uniforms Guide: Royal Navy

I recently got this jacket cheap and was wandering if someone could shed any light on it as its a little different from those i've come across in the past. I'm not sure what service this is so apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong place! It's definitely British as the label is stamped with...

Questions About the United States Navy Peacoat

I managed to find a 10 button Pea Coat in a charity shop yesterday for £16. I've not seen many ww2 era Pea Coats in the UK so i was pretty chuffed. Interestingly it is missing it's label and there's no sign of any stenciling however judging by the weight and quality of the cloth, the cuff...

Post Pics of Your Cafe Racer Jackets

I was wandering if someone might be able to ID this jacket that i thrifted yesterday. It's got a few similarities to some Schott's, Brooks and Lesco's that I've seen but since it's missing its zip out liner there's no makers label. The pockets and side zips are all brass Talons while the...

Beautiful pair of Red Wing 8114 Iron Rangers in black in UK size 10 I don't really need to tell you guys how awesome these are but: Fully welted, triple sticked thick harness leather (which had been mink oiled) with a cork nitrile sole. They not been worn more than 3-4 times and are in near...

Feet Up! The Work Boot Thread

I've been eyeing up the Iron Rangers for quite a few years now but funds were never at the ready! I've got a couple of pairs of Red Wings: some battered and re-soled anniversary 1909's that i found in a vintage shop years back, and a pair of 8173's that turned up in a local market. So what...

    Talk About Your Desk Lamps

Anglepoise Sorry, if I'm replying to a long dead thread?! The 'artists lamps' you mentioned are based on the 'Anglepoise' lamp design. The Anglepoise lamp was designed by an inventor called George Cawardine and the first version was released in 1934 by Herbert Terry and sons, of Redditch...

I'v been looking around this site for years and years and years. Over that time it's fuelled and informed my love of vintage clothing. So it's somewhat of asurprise to me that my first actual post is of my drawing work (I'm a contemporary artist, and also building up my illustration work...
