What do you do for Living?

Well, I work in a prison for the Alabama Dept of corrections. 12 hour shifts, locked inside a cube surrounded by several hundred inmates. Hoo-boy, the stories I could tell. Lol. Lets just say prison isn't like the movies. :)

What coffee or tea did you drink today?

Yeah, I’m not crazy about a lot of Starbucks practices or views. But they make some darn good coffee. I did buy something called Brazilian Santos the other day. I ordered it from a company out of Georgia. I’ll have to let yall know how it is when it gets here.

What Did You Drink Last Night?

Hope I’m not breaking any rules, but I thought this was an interesting article on Scotch Whisky. A sort of guide. http://www.artofmanliness.com/2009/04/05/the-art-of-manliness-guide-to-scotch-whisky/

What Did You Drink Last Night?

Well…I’ll try some right now then! J Ok, yall are going to laugh at me. I didn’t realize this bottle of Glenfiddich had a darn cork in it. So the bottle top was covered by the wrapper and I used my trusty Old Timer knife to cut the seal. Well, the top came off and the cork stayed in the...

What Did You Drink Last Night?

Well…I’ve read about it for years and today I purchased something different (for me). I’d heard about folks who loved Irish Whiskey and folks who loved Scotch. I have only imbibed bourbon or Sour Mash so I wondered what these other spirits taste like. Since I know absolutely nothing about...

    Hawaiian shirts and fedoras

Wow, you wouldn't believe how close we live together. Lol! Well, I have purchased a few more shorts and am wearing them everyday now. I've gone Hawaiian shirt crazy I think. Plus watching Elvis' 'Blue Hawaii as well as Hawaii Five-0 and Magnum P.I nightly. Weather is hot and humid here and...

    Hawaiian shirts and fedoras

Yep. Not too many people wear Hawaiian shirts here in central Alabama. Their loss. This shirt is lightweight, cool and comfortable. And I think Hawaiian shirts are classy summer attire. Odd that they aren't more popular here because of the hot summers and the popularity of tv shows like...

Just picked up a couple of new Hawaiian shirts! Odd how it has given me the overwhelming urge to watch Magnum P. I. again. ;)

    What Are You Reading

Currently reading Matt Helm: the Silencers (by Donald Hamilton) I was pleasantly surprised to learn this book version of Helm was very different from Dean Martin's portrayal in the films. (Although I do love the Martin films) :)

    What Are You Reading

That’s a good point about some Germans not wanting anything to do with the Nazis. You take a guy like Werner Klemperer (who played Col. Klink on Tvs Hogan’s Heroes). He was a German Jew who fled during WW2. In fact he, and a host of the actors who played Germans on the series, actually joined...

    What Are You Reading

I believe WW3 is already here. Or at least the beginnings of it. I watch how the various political alliances are being made with regard to the Middle east. What's going on in Iran, Syria, and the Ukraine. Interesting and scary.

So trivial, yet it really ticks you off.

Eh...the South has changed an awful lot in the past 25 or 30 years. Most stores, malls, supermarkets, etc are open today.

    What Are You Reading

Just finished "Killing Patton". Really good book, but I'm not (yet) convinced of the conspiracy that someone murdered him.
