Research is important
The books are good to give you an idea of what to look for, but I've found that it's best to research as much as possible. I love to watch old movies from the 40's, the film noirs, the comedies, but I view them for the clothing and hair styles as much as for the story...

I'll give those products you suggested a try, Thank you for recommending them. I'm surprised that my Macy's that's close to me doesn't have it, but I'm going into San Francisco Saturday and try there. I just love shopping in Union Square.;)
I've come into this thread a bit late, but I've had a problem with MAC, and had to fall back on my old reliables Clinque and Almay for foundation.
But since I have older skin I've got to be careful about it caking, so I go sparing on the foundation and just use a little powder, my problem...
