Men's Dress Hat Stores, in New York City.

Finally went to Bencraft and bought a hat. Well, I went to Bencraft, not the Williamsburg store, and bought a very nice Chatham by Stetson. Next time I will go to their larger store in Williamsburg. I think I would like to look at more sporty hats. The salesmen there suggested a sportier look...

Men's Dress Hat Stores, in New York City.

I assume you mean to Bencraft in Williamsburg. I went to their other store, closer to where my brother lives; I was visiting him. I got a very nice Chatham by Stetson, 03 Caribou color. They didn't have long ovals per se but they had R, which I assume is for regular oval, rather than more...

I have printed out the Hat Corner information. There seems to be two, one in Manhattan and one in Brooklyn. Does anyone know if the Hat Corner has a website? Thanks.

What Hat Are You Wearing Today 1?

I usually wear either a Cuenca Gotita or Diamante or a Montecristi Cuencano from Panama Bob! But I can't seem to get the photos uploaded. I've been trying to upload smaller photos than the ones I see on this thread. Any help? Letm me try a URL. Can't. Doesn't recognize the URL as valid. Odd that.

We live in a house built by William Stephen Vanderbilt in 1889. I have some great pictures of the outside but cannot find them.

    What's for Dinner?

Last night was a Jamaican Curried Lamb Stew. I roasted my own curry. Blueberry pie with banana saffron ice cream. Homemade, natch. Tonight is Airline (cut) Chicken with an orange soy sauce. Sauteed beets and sesame green beans. Dessert will be my world famous chocolates.

    Formal Wear Primer

In 1913, as it is today, Full Dress was still morning coat and bold striped pants. Though by the 20th century, undress was more common during the day than it was in the 19th century.

    Formal Wear Primer

For full dress, lawn is or rather was the standard for the bow tie. Cambric is acceptable and in the US piqué was used. Though, I hear nowadays that satin and silk ties are acceptable. For undress, that is my dinner jacket, I wear a silk tie.

    Baseball Players in Hats....Not Ballcaps

My father was good friends with Ty Cobb's daughter and used to correspond with her at least once a year. He met her coming back from Europe after the war. I often wonder what became of those letters.

Panama Hats Direct feedback and a funny cowboy hat story

I used to live in Austin for 9 years, many, many years ago. I have two Cattlemen hats, a Resistol straw and a Resistol 5X, and I got more ribbing in Texas than I do in NY. I wound up getting Resistol over Stetson because they fit better. Maybe I should have gotten a different style hat. LOL. But...

Panama Hats Direct feedback and a funny cowboy hat story

I ordered two hats. I went with two hats from Robert. I'm getting a (subfino?) 150-200weave/sq inch Cuencano Montecristi that was blocked in el Ecuador. And I also got a Diamante Cuenca also blocked in el Ecuador, I believe. It uses a Brisa Weave. Both have Grosgrain ribbons, burgundy and...

Panama Hats Direct feedback and a funny cowboy hat story

Indeed, I love cigars. However, I only smoke Siglo V or Romeo et Julieta. Though a Cohiba Robusto or Siglo I have their merits. I also loved the special anniversary edition Diplomaticos with the maduro wrappers. Now, what I need is a hat to go with the cigars. LOL.

Panama Hats Direct feedback and a funny cowboy hat story

PHD, PanamaBob Hello, I wanted to reply on this thread. I almost ordered from Panama HD when I found this thread. I stopped to consider. I also went to PanamaBob's site and saw the detail in the hat. He has linear thread counts. I have been emailing him. I was thinking of getting a Cuencas...
