Customized Aero 1930s Premier Half Belt in Battered Tan FQHH, size 36

I'm a size 36, and I've had an incredibly difficult time reselling jackets for even a quarter of the original price. I wish you luck! My torso says yes, but my wallet says no... I agree with others on the excellent fit and recommendation to keep it for yourself. :)

Comparison of new Langlitz and Aero Goatskin Jackets

I have nothing but respect for everyone on the Langlitz team. And my latest jacket from them nailed every single aspect of the fit. They are definitely wise in terms of making a legitimate, old school (by which I mean no armor/no reflective material, etc.) bike jacket.

    Langlitz Cascade Black Cowhide

I can't speak for @Frame, but I have a Cascade. I followed the measuring instructions to measure down to one inch below the belt, and my jacket hits right at the belt, where it should for a riding jacket. So, while I can't confirm that's the case here, I can tell you that following the measuring...

Is there a line and, if so, how/where do you draw it?

You pose an excellent question, @Superfluous, and as always, I enjoy reading your thoughts here. For me, it has to do with two questions: 1. What is enough? 2. Am I causing harm to myself or others? The second one can be complex, but much less so. There's a reason Debtor's Anonymous exists...

Limited Edition Himel Bros avail. at Orvis?

I listened to the same interview and was impressed (not that my being impressed is what matters, but I just wanted to state that) by Himel's knowledge. And, clearly, his designs are fantastic. No one is bashing or embarrassing him, from my vantage point, and this thread is incredibly far from...

    New Langlitz Cascade

The hidden armpit pocket is my favorite pocket in any design. Strange to have a favorite pocket, but I feel at home here, at least. :D

Limited Edition Himel Bros avail. at Orvis?

If I were forced to choose between the two, I'd also align with the Canuck. It's a little cleaner. But I enjoy both designs.

Limited Edition Himel Bros avail. at Orvis?

Haha. I do think this jacket looks fantastic. Himel is an impressive designer.

Limited Edition Himel Bros avail. at Orvis?

I, too, found the comparison posts in poor taste, though I'm not sure I can articulate exactly why. It's something along the lines of what Monitor said above. For me, it comes down to the tone of a brand, which, for these really small makers, where they're doing their own representations on...

    My favorite riding/driving gloves

+1 on Geier. I've ridden many miles in their Elkskin Ropers (they make them for Aerostitch), as well as their deerskin gloves. I got a pair of kangaroo hide gloves from them which strangely developed a hole in a finger. But the ones I've used for riding have served me very well, and they look...

Jacket is Giving Me The Creaks

Interesting thoughts. I'm not totally averse to the sound. I also find it comforting at times. But what I was hearing was much louder. For instance, I often wear shoes to work that have a Vibram Gumlite sole. When I walk down the linoleum hallway, it sounds like there's a flock of ducks...

Jacket is Giving Me The Creaks

It's their flight jacket. I have a Cascade for riding, and I wanted something I could wear, for instance, when camping or going out to the bars. I was able to find this for a great price on eBay, so I won't worry about treating it harshly. It's in great shape, but the creaking starts to drive me...

Jacket is Giving Me The Creaks

Oh, interesting. They still do it after years of use? I'm accustomed to boot leather that creaks at first and then stops. This is goatskin, but pretty staunch, so maybe it's behaving similarly to that heavier cowhide.

Jacket is Giving Me The Creaks

I've had leather items (jackets, briefcases, boots, etc.) that, when new, creaked a little while breaking in. After break in, the creaking went away. However, I picked up an 80s Langlitz on eBay, and it sounds like I'm walking on a Linoleum floor in clown shoes. Even just hanging it up makes me...

    Fit Compromises in eBay jackets

Definitely. If I had more expendable income, I'd take more chances. :)

    Fit Compromises in eBay jackets

There's also the problem of sellers subjectively deciding that their measurements equal a size S, M, L, etc.
