Well, the durability of zinc slider IS an issue - if you look at the slider photos in my first post here, it can be seen that it's not only the coating, but the zinc itself wears off, obvioulsy by rubbing through heavy leather. And this is only after one month of use. I am pretty sure this...
UPD
For those of you who are interested what your repro zippers are made of, this is an answer from Asahi/Waldes, who is the manufacturer of these zippers:
This slider is made of Zinc.
So we must plate to gold.
As using slider, it will come off the plating and appear the material(Zinc).
To me...
Hello,
I am wondering what these modern hookless repro zippers are made of. It was supposed to be a brass, but after just a few weeks of using it is turning out white. It also appears to be wearing off quickly.
I was expecting to get a solid brass zipper, which would last for years, but now...
Hey,
those who ordered directly from Aero site - did you guys have to pay any import duties when your shipment arrived at US customs from Scotland?
Thanks!
Please, help! I want to buy this great bracelet from new collaboration between Coach and Philip Crangi, but it is sold out online. Furthermore I couldn't find it enywhere on the web shops, ebay etc. This is Coach & Philip Crangi Double Braid Toggle Bracelet No. 68917, in SADDLE color. Would...
Please, help me to ID my vintage Levi's jeans I used to go to school in. Unfortunately, no pictures of the jeans available, neither the patch photo. But I strongly remember the following:
- jeans were from early or mid 80-s
- Orange Tab, Made In Canada
- zip fly
- copper riveted

Schott says this jacket is union made in USA by UNITE HERE Local 169. Always wondered what does that mean? Don't they produce the jacket on Schott manufacturing facility in Elizabeth, NJ?
Yes, the lenght of the jacket is good enough when leaning forward on the bike. I plan to wear it only on t-shirt or shirt, and even in this case I wish the quilted lining to be more thin (or zip out). But I think that jacket should fit just perfect when broken in with time! The horse hide...
It arrived and here are the pictures! I'd say I am happy with 44 fit, sleeves could be a bit longer, but I can live with that length. Even on the bike they are not as short as I'd expect. Will appreciate your opinion regarding the fit!
I just can't wait to have the jacket tomorrow and try it on! I have a feeling that I will love this jacket from the first sight and just won't be able to send it back;)
Sure I let you know and post the pictures!
Lviv is near 3 times smaller than Kiev, with up to 1 mln inhabitants. To me it's one...
I live in Lviv, which is 350 miles from Kiev, but I often visit Kiev. Yes, almost every brand is presented there but usually price is much higher than in US, that's why I usually purchase sfuff online whenever it is possible. For example, Harley-Davidson parts and merchandise in almost 3 times...
I was lucky to find Schott dealer here in Ukraine, that stocks different sizes of 641HH, so tomorrow I will try 44 on. By the way, the price tag here is around $900 for 641:eusa_doh:
Thanks guys all of you, I already decided upon buying 46 (mainly because sleeve length) but now it seems I am at the starting point... I really don't want much room in my jacket. I've got a Schott table with measurements, but in some point I just don't know how the measures are taken, for...
Thanks for input I talked to Schott but it is still unclear shoud I stick to 44 or 46, so I decided that asking Schott owners with similar size would be the best way. Moreover, I live in Ukraine and exchanging the jacket wouldn't be that easy for me.
Robrinay, do you wear 641? Does 46 fit more...
