Hair Coloring For Men /Your Advice and Experience

I honestly am not too familiar with OTC color, just the professional brands. My suggestion would be to look up reviews on the best brand you can buy in store.

Hair Coloring For Men /Your Advice and Experience

It can look a little matte at first, yes. After a few shampoos it can blend a bit better, but I agree with the initial shock value affecting your opinion the most. Conditioner does not protect color, shampoo does because it has the surfactants in it. Many products like to promote "color safe"...

Hair Coloring For Men /Your Advice and Experience

Hairdresser here. I always tell people to give themselves a week to get used to a change they've made in their hair. Most likely a week didn't make the hair look any different, you just became more comfortable with it. If next time you don't leave it on as long, the gray will not fully cover and...

    Your Most Disturbing Realizations

Every time I see a "retro" anomaly like a video rental store or a pay phone, I make sure to take a picture of my 1 year old in front of it so he can know they once existed!

Do you have a soundtrack ladies?

While getting ready I play Pandora's Annette Hanshaw station, it gives me a lovely mix of early jazz.

    What vintage won't you wear?

The sad eyebrows of the 20's. Although I totally would if it wouldn't attract attention, same with the bullet bra..

    Have you found Hidden Treasure?

I see "#8" and possibly a "9" in there next to "Jaz". I've been spending a little time trying to decipher the bottom half of it. Kilber?

Everyday Women of the Golden Era

My great aunt was a local model, mostly for newspapers. These are from the mid 30's.

What would you call this garment?

Looks very much like a ritual robe. Eastern in origin maybe?

    Have you found Hidden Treasure?

Great thread! Looking forward to hearing other's stories. I often wonder what is hidden within the walls of my 1802 farmhouse. The basement too!

Favorite Male or Female Singers From The Era

Annette Hanshaw's channel on Pandora is simply divine! One of my very favorites. Also have to mention Tommy Dorsey's "Music Goes Around and Around" makes me get up and dance!

Thinking about a tattoo, but is it what good girls did in the 1940's?

One thing I have found unavoidable: be prepared to answer when asked about it. There are people out there that say that their tattoo is no one else's business, which is true I suppose, but you can't get tattoos and then be offended when someone asks about it. I suppose it makes it easier for us...

My engagement ring. People always ask if it's vintage (it's not.) My husband picked it out without any help from me!

Working Out Killing My Hourglass Physique

Definitely to each their own body. I know that when I exercise without dieting, I turn more into a straight line, rather than an hourglass. If I diet and exercise, I get my hourglass back, just a smaller hourglass than I had before. :)

Working Out Killing My Hourglass Physique

Respectfully, I disagree. I think you need to take in less calories than you were eating before. You mentioned you have only been doing this a few weeks, which is not enough time to judge what your new body will look like. Your body is getting "buffer" with the new muscle, but to slim it out...

Going vintage from a shaved head...

You are all so brave! I'm getting married next year, and as soon as I do, I am shaving one side of my head. Maybe I'll just bite the bullet and do it before the wedding.
