This popped up in my ebay searches last night.
Won't fit me, and it's outside of my price range.

Too rich for my pocketbook, and it won't fit anyway.
It's labeled as a 42R, but the measurements have it more along the lines of a longer 40R or a 38R.

Very neat. I like the caramel-colored buttons on the teal.
Judging by the button stance, I'd say maybe early 40's.

The Jacket is an LL Bean model, made from Harris Tweed in what looks to be a 2x2 Dogtooth pattern. Looks like it might be a 3/2 or 3/2.5, or maybe it just has curved lapels. :D
It's a solid-looking jacket.

Found this Jacket... It has some issues, and may be a bit pricey to have it rewoven. Could be used as a pattern or for reference.

This is pretty nice. Not sure it's actually Palm beach (I don't see any tags), but it sure does look like it's in good shape.

This will fit me (well, the trousers might be a bit big), but not my wallet. :eeek:
In case someone with deeper pockets than I would like a go:

Seller thinks it's a 1960's jacket, but it has a 40's Harris Tweed label and the lapels look more "bold look/wideboy" than 60's/70's to me.

It's just what I've been looking for!
Unfortunately, it's not my size. :eusa_doh: Posting in case someone else wants a go.

I am kind of upset that this won't fit me.
1930's belt back Congo Cloth suit, Cream/Ecru/Off-White. Should fit sizes 38R-41R, depending on how much room you like in the Jacket. Pants have a 37" Waist, and a rather short inseam.

This came up in my search this morning. It won't fit me (I asked for clarification on measurements), so I am sharing it.
Seller seems new; auction size is chest size. Suit seems to be cut in a slightly portly way.

Saw this one come up in my search results. It won't fit, so I thought I'd share.
It has the 1949-1962 Union Tag. I'd guess the suit is from the latter portion of that date range. :)

This is a pretty neat looking suit, but it got too rich for my budget pretty fast. Seller says it is a 44L but the measurements look more like a 42L. She says she's cool with shipping to the states, so long as an American buyer is cool with paying actual shipping. :)...
Hi!
What's the best way to clean up a new-to-me vintage cotton tie? It has a bit of a musty scent to it.
I was thinking about hand-washing or dry cleaning.
Does anyone have any experiences they would be willing to share?
Thanks!
I found this auction on ebay while digging the other day, and the seller got back to me on the measurements.
He assures me that the garment measures:
Waist 28
Inseam 23
Outseam 34
He did not provide a seat measurement.
They won't fit me, so I thought I'd share them here. They look...
