Yep, and quite the sale it was. Though I can't help but wonder what I might have found, had I arrived earlier. C'est la vie. In any case I'm quite happy with what I did come away with!
Thanks!
Jackpot.
I had arrived late, but was still able to make this score. Someone else had already grabbed the 50’s and 60’s ties, as well as the countless vintage self-tie bowties. Who knows what else I might have missed.
….Luckily though, I was able to snag these 1930’s and 1940’s ties, and one...
Following up my previously posted photo in this thread, here's another startling clothing combination, though in a photo that takes place 10 years later.
This time the outfit in question is the sports coat, shirt, and tie combo worn by the guy on the right, in this circa October 7, 1959 photo:
It's been awhile since I posted, so to make up for the absence here’s some ties I picked up from a recent trip across the pond.

1930’s tie? Earlier? (Very short length)

Thanks! Having a dry-spell just means that your next big score is right around the corner! :D
Very nice! I have to agree with you though, after looking at the retail prices for a single tie there's countless other things that take a higher priority. That's part of the reason I love vintage...
Unfortunately I've been going through a bit of a dry period here, but I recently picked these two up:
First up, a quite skinny 1960's tie, that I at first thought was modern because of the design.

Glad you like them! I suppose the texture rather feels like a cross between polyester and cotton. It's quite flexible though much more resistant to wrinkles than my silk ties.
I had posted these awhile back the 'Show Us Your Ties' Thread, but having found a thread devoted solely to Terylene/Dacron ties, I figured it would only be proper to post them here.
I had picked these up quite awhile back at a yard sale. There was also a purple one and a green one, but someone...
Looks like you had some rousing luck RetroSpectator -not only finding a tie, but also finding a suit to go along with it!
Here's another of my recent finds, a nice 1930's tie that I've already had occasion to wear several times:

The label that I almost didn't see:
Thanks for the observation and input on the date! I'm always learning, and love to hear the details and information that others observe and share. It's also surprising to me how ties and other clothing materials from that early of a time period still happen to show up from time to time!
Since...
Here's one that I had actually passed by several times; it was so garish looking (in my honest opinion) that I simply didn't contend that it could be vintage.
However quite recently I was brushing it aside to see some other ties, and felt the fabric. It immediately had the right 'feel' and so I...
Nice ones Mean Eyed Matt! I especially like that second one.
Here's another semi-recent find. Very silky feeling. I'm guessing early 1930's. No tags.

I should have a chance to photograph the rest of my most recent finds in about a week or so.
While finding vintage ties is always a learning experience, this one was more of a learning experience than I had bargained for.
Usually it can be quite hard to date the age of a tie, so you can imagine my surprise when I found that this tie had a date on it, and down to an exact day too (Feb...
Thanks herringbonekid on the more specific dates and the similar advertisement for that early tie I found.
Nice finds everyone! Along with everyone else, I'm quite envious of that "Monterey Palm" jamesmac1801 !!!
In regards to height I can definitely relate -the ties I love most often come up...
