That is a woven wool, but that particular one is somewhat felted. It has a great weight for cold weather, and just enough drape to shape it, if you know what I mean.- HAT PEOPLE

Hi all, the one Derek WC is wearing is called "black and brown herringbone. The one that is "black and green and brown" is much darker and the weave is really called "birdseye" not herringbone.- HAT PEOPLE

This to NEOPHYTE: On the site, we are calling the fabric you got a herringbone, in green, black and brown. Actually, I recently learned that weave is called "birdseye." It is another way they set up the loom to make the pattern come out like that; herringbone is another woven in pattern.- HAT PEOPLE

Folks, just FYI, the black heather with grey highlights is a bit thicker than others we offer; it is even a little bit felted. I like to recommend it for cold weather places: like those snowing ones in the East I keep hearing about lately. Also, it sits firmly on the head with it's slightly...- HAT PEOPLE

What people would want to know is that the full cut is about 10 1/2" diameter and the xfull is about 11 1/2" diameter.....so you can see how much hat is out to the sides.....also, if anyone is wondering, your head size is 22 1/4"; important info...- HAT PEOPLE

Is Tweed Warmer Than Other Wool Products?

Anybody Else Collect Sewing Machines?
The Pfaff 130 is one of the best!! My fave I picked up in a Goodwill As Is for $5! It had no less than 5 instruction booklets with it! We used parts of another we had, to get it going, as well as another one a friend has....sort of like a Model T!! ....Purrs like a kitten....- HAT PEOPLE

Anybody Else Collect Sewing Machines?
Those are like a travellin' machine!! Any of the old style Singer machines that has the spokes in the flywheel can be converted to a hand-crank. Singer sells them so they bolt onto the right side where the motor would go...it has about 3 to 1 reduction, and you can take it anywhere and sew!!- HAT PEOPLE
