Hi All,
My WW2 original A2 Roughwear jacket the seams has started to come away. I'm looking for suitable threads that are a close match to the original. Can anyone point me to were to purchase such threads?
Cheers
I've been using camellia oil recently with great result. It quick dry, odourless and less likely to affect patina compare to pecard. I use it to gently soften stiff or add strength to weak leather.
I have a cape like that. It is not ANC or any of the major female military service. However it is widely used in the homefront stateside by trainee nurse during the war so technically it is military in that sense because of the war and higher recruitment.
Had 10mins spare after a photoshoot so decide to do a quick trial run test shoot of a lady with some wartime uniform. I will get the hair and makeup right when I get the chance to do it properly;)
Dubow has a size 38 tag but it is bigger and generous fit and longer torso more like a modern 38. My size is modern 36 and this is too big, bought it a few years ago, doesnt fit and put it away.
Who is the lady? I might hire her for a photoshoot :)
I'm after a WW2 Irvin 36"-40" chest in good condition. Willing to do a trade, I have an original WW2 A2 Dubow it is superb condition I think it is worth more than an Irvin.
I have asked the carer who briefly owned it if the owner has serviced it and they are not sure. The mechanism is in mint condition and dirt free.
I tried a full wound and it is still ticking since 11.00pm on saturday, that is 32hrs ago. Let see if it reach 36hrs :)
Thankyou but the watch works brilliant and accurate. The original owner never really got round to using it, likely the mechanism rarely if ever ran until now. The watch is practically new.
I bought this recently, 9ct gold London hallmark dated 1929. The original owner had no surviving relations so left it to his carer who sold it to me. Still in its original box but box is a bit tatty. It is hardly worn at all, never been serviced as far as I know but work perfectly, case are like...
