    Hat Stores In Washington DC

I work evenings in DC making pick-ups for a medical lab in Baltimore and, if I am in the area, will often stop at Andrea's Fine Hats. Very nice, friendly, and knowledgeable people there. I usually don't get to the Bethesda area so didn't know about American Hatters. I will make that a...

Ebay Hats: Victories, Defeats, Gripes & Items of Interest

Welcome Stetsonian. I, too, like the name. At the high cost of cigarettes it makes sense to mooch 'em.

New Ladies and Gents Step Forward

Greetings. I am in my early 60's and not only like vintage things, I am a vintage thing. My wife, who is a hat person, got me started wearing berets a few years ago. I grew comfortable with the look and decided to expand that look to include fedoras. That led to finding the lounge and I am...

    The Knox Beater Saga...(part 1)

The Knox Beater Saga...(Part 2) The seller was very good about the mix-up and refunded my money once she had contacted the other party. She was quite embarrassed about the whole situation and pleased when each of us said we would mail the other parties package. Naturally, I intend to...

    The Knox Beater Saga...(part 1)

The knife is stamped OLD HICKORY on the wooden handle. Stamped into the blade is ONTARIO KNIFE CO. Looks to be the 6" boning model. There is something else stamped above the logo but it is obscured by dried blood or something. I'll be sure to wipe my prints off of it before I mail it out.

    The Knox Beater Saga...(part 1)

The eBay title stated Vintage Man's Hat Fifth Avenue Knox. Looking at the photo I could immediately tell that the phrases “like new'' or “looks like it's never been worn” would not be in the description. I didn't rule out “terrible industrial disaster” but that was missing too. The...

    Berets, Anyone?

I have been wearing berets for several years. My wife got me started wearing them in the winter to keep my dome warm. I have quite a few of various colors, all of them cheap ones. I actually think I look good in a beret. No, better than good, I look great! I have never been one to wear caps...
