Not doubting you but I don't understand why centrifugal force (centrepetal?) wouldn't keep the jackets plastered to the side.of the spinning wash tub. Seems like it would be safe from destruction in that manner.
You know, I can see the benefit of a slow dry but also, I would be concerned that mold would start growing in the damp lining, especially.
My experience is that drying takes about a day and I utilize multiple methods with short exposure times to each method. Air dry, low clothes dryer, air only...
I know there are pro's and con's discussed here and online about throwing your leather jacket in a washinng machine.
I had one jacket that was a bit odorous and put a small amount of detergent in with the jacket. No harm at all. I use the kind that is free of all scents, etc.
Today, I decided...
Walter Dyer, in natural light. I'm not 100% certain if this is steer or goat. It's squeaky factor is may 3/10 unlike a known goatskin jacket that is more like a 7/10 squeaky. FWIW.
Cheers!
Thank you. It is a heavy jacket and the leather lined pockets were a surprise but in a good way. Pretty easy to wear for the weight.
That car coat really rocks. I must have missed previous posts about it. Cheers!
New to me, Walter Dyer. Heavy. Warm. Fits pretty well.
I managed to get the crappy chest pocket zipper tabs off and put on ring chains. I like the way those look much better. It was a fiddly little chore but worked out in the end. Cheers!
Hello. I would like to leave the zipper intact but swap out the pull tab for a ring chain pull. I’ve looked online but keep finding videos about replacing the whole pull. can anyone please point me to a tutorial about getting the pull tab off without removing the whole zipper pull? There does...
not sure if that’s directed to me or not. If to me, I’ve no idea how old this jacket is. It’s in really good shape, like new just about. Some wear and loose threads but treated nicely in the past. Cheers!
New to me, but almost brand new, Walter Dyer. Too close to dark for outside fit pics but here are a few quick shots.
Seems like a nice and thick leather. About five pounds in weight. Pockets are all leather lined. Not bad!
Cheers
It's a cool jacket for sure. I'll be it will be warm! Do you think the wool that was used will stand up to wear and tear of being a full jacket, rather than lining material? Cheers!
Yes. Terrible performance for much of any given day. To the degree that I just haven't been as interested in coming in lately. Hoping the owner is able to sort that out and maybe increase capacity with bandwidth and/or storage.
Schott 654. I bought this after seeing it posted in the "finds" thread. I ran out of Obenauf's prior to finishing the whole jacket. Waiting on a new bottle to arrive today. Cheers!
Hi all. Would rubber cement glue (or other type) likely be sufficient to fix this tear? The tear does not go through and is not a hole. It's in the elbow vicinity of a steerhide jacket. Other recommendations?
Thanks!
