Hello all,
As has been the case in the past, I am asking a question/starting a thread I am sure has been touched on in the past, nevertheless, I am unable to find the answer I am looking for.
So, without further ado - What color exactly is the Tawny Fawn from Akubra?
I am slightly color...
Good Day all,
I’m looking to gather information regarding the do’s and don’ts of attempting to flatten a Camp draft brim?
I’d like to take the cupping out of the back.
I had read somewhere (can’t remember where) that removing the flange can make the brim floppy?
The brim on my deluxe Camp...

Good dogs and all kinds of cats.
Dirt roads and white lines and all kinds of stop signs,
But I stand right here where I'm at,
'Cause I wear My Own Kind Of Hat.”
- Merle Haggard
Thank you Dave,
I appreciate your thoughts and input.
Thanks for the link Johnny, I’ve actually read through that thread previously. Nevertheless, I appreciate it.
Hey Dave, would you say the RM is a stiffer one of your Campdrafts? Is the brim shorter than the plain ol’ Campdraft?
Cheers!
Good day all,
I am torn between purchasing a Fed IV or the Akubra RM Williams hat. I have a few Akubra hats already and I am a huge fan. Wondering how stiff the Fed IV is/can be?
But, most importantly, I wish I could see a video and more pictures of the RM Williams RM Akubra.
There is a...
Hello Zombie,
I have two Campdraft questions that I’m hoping you can answer for me. I hate to be a bother but, what is the crown height on them AFTER you install your lower style bash?
Also, how stiff is the brim and crown? I’m leaning towards getting a Deluxe because as I understand it, it’s...
Hello all,
I am interested in the hatWRKS Hardliner but I’m a long ways from Nashville.
Has anyone seen one in person? Even better, does anyone own one? The description on the web site says
the "hardliner" is a stiffer version of the iconic stetson stratoliner.
Cheers!
Hello all,
Has anyone seen (in person) or does anyone own The Stetson Hardliner from hatWRKS in Nashville? There website says “the "hardliner" is a stiffer version of the iconic stetson stratoliner.”
Thanks Sir
I would have to agree with you. Without having seen either the Stylemaster or the Fed in person, from pics I’ve seen online the Stylemaster looks more casual.
Cheers
Hello all,
Wow! You all are awesome! I appreciate the information. It is a big help. Mr 1967Cougar390, thank you kindly for the video Sir! How do you like the Fed? Where does it rank in your personal comparison to the Stylemaster?
Cheers!
Thank you all for your input. I appreciate it. Just to clarify what I wrote - 'hold without the crown/middle of the hat dropping down' - I mean a brim strong enough to stay flat and not “fold over”. Meaning the brim alone is stiff enough to hold the weight of the whole hat all together. Not sure...
Hello all,
Ok. My head is spinning.
I don’t have a retail location that sells Akubra hats locally.
I am unable to hold these hats in my hand to get a feel for the stiffness of each model.
The long and short of it is, I want a hat with a brim that’s stiff enough to hold without the...
Hello all,
Just looking for a few thoughts on whether or not The Akubra Banjo Paterson lid lends itself to the look of a quote on quote cowboy hat. Yes, I know it’s technically not one but... what is the overall style it “shouts out” if that makes sense? Anyone?
Cheers!
Thanks Johnny,
I have considered a Campdraft. Not into The Federation, too “stove pipe” for my taste. I understand everyone is looking for something different but for me, I wish they made a Campdraft with a shorter brim and a lower crown. If the dimensions were just a bit smaller it would be my...
Thank you Gents for the helpful information.
Does Akubra make a Stylemaster in Heritage felt? I’m actually looking for something a tad stiffer than my Akubra Fedora..
Anyone know if the Acorn color is green at all? Thanks again
Cheers!
