Thanks Miss Sis, this particular sweater was actually just cotton, but I'll remember that for the future.
If anyone could give me any advice on anther question I have, I would be very grateful. I am interning at a vintage boutique and the man I am working for asked me to do some work for him...
Thanks sheeplady, thats really helpful. It turns out that the cardigan was actually washed in woolite and then in (fully dissolved and very diluted) clorox 2 to remove the stains, and it was when it was washed for a second time in woolite that it turned neon blue...so I had thought maybe there...
I have a bit of an odd question...has anyone ever soaked a garment in woolite or very diluted oxyclean and had it turn blue? I recently purchased a 1950s dress with matching cardigan and both the collar of the dress and the back of the sweater had some storage dirt on them. The dress came out...
Beautiful purchases! This thread is dangerous, it makes me want to shop.
I just splurged on this (sorry the picture is huge)...I can't wait until it arrives. Its a Cole of California dress, and I love this brand. The way the top is constructed like a swimsuit with the smocking and boning is so...
Its so great to read the experiences of other people who dress vintage, thank you all for sharing!
I am interning at a vintage store and yesterday a lovely woman and her mother came in looking for a wedding dress. The mother had been smiling at me without saying a word for about 10 minutes when...
Thanks for the link! I've actually already stumbled across that page, just from google. Her collection is amazing. I thought I had a lot of Bes Ben hats (6, I think, at last count) but she puts my collection to shame. I would have loved to see them in person!
Thank you all so much! She's wearing the What Katie Did glamour corselette--I have one for myself and I love it so I bought another one in her size to go under the suit.
Eva--thanks for noticing, the lining is my favorite part, its actually from the 50s and has poodles on it.
Rodeo Rose--thank...

This is a suit I made for school this month. For once my professors actually liked the vintage inspiration and styling--I just wish I'd had more than 5 minutes to do the model's hair and makeup...
"][/IMG]Okay here you go, sorry if this turns out huge I'm still getting the hang of posting pictures--and curling my hair as you can undoubtedly see. Your hat sounds beautiful. I know its ridiculous to wear strawberries on my head, but I do love it.
Hello, I have also been consulting this site for a long time (you've all been very helpful with my pathetic attempts at setting my hair), but finally decided to contribute. I have loved vintage clothing, accessories, makeup, hair, decor, etc. For a long time now, and am slowly working on...
I completely agree--I guess I am technically an hourglass, although a much larger one than I would like. It may be considered an "ideal" shape but it makes buying modern clothing very difficult. I am 41-30-41 and its hard to find off the rack garments that fit me in the bust and hips and still...
Hello everyone, I hope this is allowed...I just wanted to mention that I just listed this beautiful unworn pair of remix heels on ebay in a size 9. [/IMG]
I'm another super pale redhead and i just recently discovered Chanel Matte Lumière foundation in Porcelaine--I love it. I've been trying to find a shade that didn't turn me pink, yellow, or orange for years. Its a bit pricey but lasts forever--only problem is my color isn't available in...
