I know that it is not frowned upon to change a crown on an Open Road from a western motif to a traditional fedora style, but would it be acceptable to change the grosgrain ribbon on a Open Road from the narrow ~1/4" wide to a much wider one resembling what's found on the Whippets and other... -

OEM Replacement parts?
Does anyone know if Stetson makes replacement sweatbands for vintage hats? Say, in brown with a vintage logo? I have a plain ol' Stetson fedora that the sweatband is cracking and if you pull on it, it cracks in a new place. I'd like to replace it, but would like it to resemble the original... -

Whippet, Stratoliner, Open Road....
I have purchased hats and Fedoras in particular before, but a "Whippet" and as soon as I saw it I realized what all the Hype is about. It is without a doubt the mother of all fedoras... in my limited expeience. I have an XXX Open Road in its original weastern style and I don't think it comes... -

I just won the Guyer Homburg Fedora off ebay... I bid, though I could not find any info on "Guyer". It seemed like a very nice hat, can anyone tell me if "Guyer" is an acceptable brand, or whether I just wasted my money?
