Hello

Beautiful early to mid-1930's German suit ensemble for a man of size 38-40 R.

High quality wool fabric of medium heavy weight of charcoal colour with tiny white stripes and black structure stripes.
The Peak-lapel jacket was not part of the original 3-piece suit, but since size and fabric are almost exactly the same,
it will be included. Great possibilites for variation. Essentially two suits in one!
(Exact measurements below!)

Ensemble is entirely original 1930's vintage and of German provenance - the suit is from "Holzkirchen" Bavaria.
Exquisitely tailor-made of highest quality.

It consists of:

1x Peak-lapel jacket
1x Notch-lapel jacket
1x Waistcoat
1x Trousers

Also included:

1x Shirt (to be used with removable collar (not included) - beautiful patterned weave on chest and French cuffs)
1x Pen (the Pen is made from bakelite with nice wavy surface and 30's-deco clasp. Comes with with original box.
Pen is intended as an ascessoire to put in the pocket... if you are nifty, you might repair the pen and use it.)
1x Glasses frame (for sunglasses or reading glasses - excellent condition)

Excellent condition, flawless, no holes or stains - already dry cleaned.

Size fits a US/UK 38 - 40 Regular.

Measurements:

Peak lapel jacket:
Shoulders 43 cm / 17 in
Chest 53 cm / 21 in
Waist 48 cm / 19 in
Sleeves 63 cm / 24.8 in
Back 73 cm (with collar) / 28.7 in

Notch lapel jacket:
Shoulders 45 cm / 17.7 in
Chest 55 cm / 21.6 in
Waist 49 cm / 19.3 in
Sleeves 63 cm (can be extended to 66 cm) / 24.8 in
Back 75 cm (with collar) / 29.5 in

Trousers
Waist 86 cm / 34 in (can be tightened with straps. Enough inlay for 5 cm / 2 in)
Rise 35 cm / 13.7 in
Inseam 78 cm / ca. 31 in (without cuffs as appropriate on German afternoon suits)
Note that the crotch typically sits a bit lower and the rise is very high (above navel). Wear it an inch lower and it works fine for 32 inches inleg.
Cuff 26 cm / 10.2 in

Coat
Shoulders 50 cm / 19.6 in
Sleeves 66 cm / 26 in
Back 126 cm (with collar) / 49.6 in

I also offer a matching winter coat with half-belt, made from thick greenish-charcoal wool with doubleface tartan.
The coat fits also a size 38 (worn over the suit) and is in very good condition, with some rubbing at the cuff edge.
The label (half of it missing) informs us that it was made/sold by "Rekord - Gürtler & SChaar Chemnitz".

Price for complete suit ensemble: 250 €
Price for winter coat: 150 €
Shipping (with tracking and insurance): 10 € Germany, 20 € Europe, 40 € USA/Canada/Australia

PM me if interested, and leave a note on this thread.

Best

I love the cloths used, especially on the overcoat. I think the orphan fits in quite well with its new family. And it's priced to move.

BTW, what is the intended use for that extra pocket on the trousers?

Thanks guys - it is lovely indeed.
Rudie, I see your plight... now if it were just a 40L I would have kept it myself.

Regarding the peculiar rear pocket... maybe the other side will give you an idea:

I think I have figured it out!

After turning it inside out, I detected three blonde hairs.

My conclusion: hair scissors - this was a barber's or hairdresser's suit!

Note that this pocket is not at the rear but near the side seam - so the item won't be a hindrance to sitting.

Fastuni, that's a nice idea, but i doubt very much this was a purpose-made hairdresser's suit.
hairdressers nearly always wore the typical cotton unstructured workwear type of garments, similar to ship's stewards, ice cream salesmen, delivery boys and all of that ilk.

that's a tailored 3 piece suit, not a work suit.

Guess that is correct.
So maybe the owner wanted a special pocket for his comb. Somehow the shape and hair has to make sense. ;)

I was thinking '32 caliber mid barreled Luger myself.

The pocket opening is certainly too small for a Luger. :p
A tiny pocket pistol would fit.

@hbk

The cotton lining really is outstanding. The entire interior of the waistcoat has it as well.
