FOR SALE:
1940s Burton single-breasted peak lapel suit in navy blue. It's in great condition minus a few moth holes in the crotch of the trouser and 3 on the leg (pictured).The jacket is in excellent condition, no visible signs of wear and tear.
The jacket carries the pre-war Burton label and the trousers have the CC41 label sewn in. The body lining is black satin and the sleeves a satin pale blue candy stripe. I believe the fabric to be a medium weight wool serge.
The trousers have exterior braces buttons and a fishtail back with a single pocket on the right buttock.
Measurements as follows (all measurements taken with the suit lain flat)
Jacket:
Pit to pit 20.5"
Shoulder to shoulder 18"
Shoulder to cuff 23.5" (with approx 3" access to lengthen if needed)
Nape to hem 27.5"
Trousers:
34" waist
1.5" turn ups with 0.5" spare (you have these lengthened and lose the turn up)
Inside leg 28"
14" rise
