1942 Coast Guard jacket. Looking for more info.

Hi, I was hoping someone here could provide me with additional details on this recent acquisition.

Judging from the label, I think it is a custom made jacket.
From the piping on the sleeves, it looks to be a midshipman's coat.
The location of the tailor, New London CT, is the location of the USCG academy.
I'm guessing the number written on the label is the original owners serial number.

Good call. I found this in the US Coast Guard Academy year book from 1933
