What a cool hat! It is a true black (maybe hard to tell from the photos) with a medium-low crown and stingy brim. The original sweatband has been resewn in without the reed (on account of it had come mostly detached anyway) by Falcon Park Hattery.

It is Resistol's 3X dress felt, which has a very fine and velvety hand.
