This one is from tagsafari.com, a manufacturing company located in Zimbabwe. It has all the classic look of the British military originals (the first civilian explorer/hunters into Africa outfitted themselves from military sources) and is sturdy and inexpensive. Personally, I have owned two safari jackets and a safari vest and after finding them useless on safari discarded them all. I may get another, eventually, but it will be for knocking around the US, not for serious work in the bush.

Back in 2007 I visited Hamburg, Germany. In the city centre is a tropical outfitters 'Ernst Brendler'. It looks as if their window display hasn't changed in 50 years and the mannequin displaying the safari suit must have been there since the 1930s. The perfect place to get a very traditional safari suit. They also stock interesting tropical linen shirts.
