A visit with Jimmy Pierce

I was in Fort Worth on business the other week. During my trip I had the pleasure of stopping by his shop for a visit. A bit of a drive but well worth it!

It was the best use of time during my stay! Jimmy is a gentleman and was more than willing to spend the time answering all my questions. He has a very nice setup and it was wonderful being able to spend the time talking with someone who enjoys and is quite obviously a master at his craft. I was able to see some of his latest completed works (and works in progress) and they are really something.

Earlier in the week, I stopped at the HatCo outlet store and quite honestly, I left a little disappointed. I didn't really see anything in there worth buying. When I got to Jimmy's shop, the difference in quality blew me away.

Anyway, I ended the visit getting measured for an upcoming hat I plan to have him make for me and I picked up a hat block as well.

Thanks, Jimmy for taking the time to meet with me and for anyone looking for a custom hat, he is worth talking to!

Was Jimmy still on the square in Granbury, or had he moved J.P. Designs to his home? When I saw him before Christmas, he was planning the move.

He has moved out to his home. It is a nice setup in a shop out back of the house. It even has electricity! :D

Weird coincidence in that his ad banner was at the top of the page when I read the message...clicked on the banner and it reports his domain expired over a week ago and wasn't renewed. If someone's got his email, you might let him know before some name scavenger grabs it and starts selling baseball caps and flip-flops under his domain name.

He can't get e-mail right now. Here's his post from the "Merchants" category, on the main page:

I'm in Mexico on business currently or I would give him a call. I do know he was checking PM's however. I'll leave him a PM and maybe one of you fine gentlemen can give him a call.

Hi Jimmy,
Did you ever receive my PM or get my phone call? I am in no rush, but I want to be sure everything got through OK. Thanks.
