I wonder how popular leather actually is. Only one of my male friends has owned anything in leather and no one I know at work wears it. In the past twenty years I have met only three or four guys who like the look of it and even they have tended to buy second hand from thrift shops.

Wouldn't this be down to you living in Australia?

I don't think so Sloan as some of our most vital Outerwear members live here and warmer places. In winter when I'm on public transport, which is daily, I notice many jacket wearers, just none in leather.

same here, wear my jackets around the house mostly, occasionally venturing into the garden for a beer in the gazebo

Here in Melbourne, I usually wear leather on colder windy days which can also occur occasionally in summer. To me leather is more of evening wear for the most. Even in winter I can sometimes get around in just a T shirt but I like to wear a jacket nearly always when getting out at night. For day wear there is approx a 4 to 5 month window. For evening wear perhaps 6 to 7 months.
