Aero A-2 knits-What color?

I'm about to pull the trigger on an Aero "Real Deal"A-2 in russet,I kinda like the Dark brown knits.Can someone tell me,was there a standard issue color during WWII for the knits?

Paddy will be the person to give you a definitive answer on this one but as far as I am aware, the darker seal brown jackets usually had lighter, contrasting knits ( rust ? ) and the lighter - russet - jackets had the darker knits I think !!

There's no hard and fast rule really, I cant imagine any combination not looking right - I had a seal brown A2 from Aero and chose the mid brown knits. It's really just a matter of personal choice.

Good choice of A2 though Aeros 'Real Deal' is a nice looking jacket- I aim to get one of those myself at some point

Some Aeros had the russet rust combo.

The seal rust knit combo is a true mark of an Aero.

They are not as red as they appear in the photos, they are actually more of a brick color in real life.
