Bit of a thread revival here, just had the jacket in question delivered yesterday. Looks unworn and will be used sparingly, sits nicely alongside my Goodwear monarch M-444A. I had said I wouldn't buy another anj4 after selling my eastman anj4, but this one grabbed me,same way it did 11years ago.Johns description is bang on perfect. If I was told it was made last week I would have believed it.

They really are lovely. My old Irvin and my B3 are both now a bit smaller than ideal, and I'm in due course looking to replace, but an ANJ4 might just jump the queue in terms of practicality. The B3's big score over the Irvin was always the map pocket being such a convenient place to stow gloves when stepping inside anywhere, but those 4's pair of patch pockets take that up a notch, and the lack of exposed fleece to wear down at cuffs is very attractive. Eh, if the lottery win comes in this weekend, I'll obviously be straight on a train to Gala - "Three of everything, please!".

This size 42 has sheepskin that put my eastman to shame,im normally a 44 so this ,like the m-444a is a fraction off fit wise, but im planning on losing another 7lbs or so ,at 12st7lbs they should both be perfect.
Don't want them to layer, that would be total overkill, tee shirt is certainly all that's required.
